The pier walk wouldn’t be bad for me personally, as a healthy individual, but not looking forward to it with my 2 yr old. 😣 It’s either going to be me carrying her the whole way or taking a stroller and having to lug that around all day. It’ll be interesting to see how it goes when we visit there.

What a shame to see this public, beautiful and sacred place be transformed into a private Disney Resort.

Earn a title for that…lol never tried breakfast there so will try. As we re often in fantasyland first usually just get Cinnabon at gaston

The water and sand look beautiful. I don’t think I would eat the food considering all the flies. I’m surprised they are even serving food until they get that problem under control.

Yes, the Holiday Turkey sandwich is our absolute most favorite!! We first got it in Disneyland also! We have an Earl of Sandwich near us in Cherokee, NC, and we get it every time we go over there as well!!

I’ve always loved that the Friars Nook has a window labeled “Brats & Tots.” Are those what’s on the menu, or the clientele? LOL 😂

They need to net off the eating areas, need smaller type Cabanas on the beach. Need larger bars and larger store.

We ate here today. Lovely meal. We were wet and tired. We were incredibly grateful our waitress did the standard stuff (do the chores, clean your plate) but toned it down to just the right level. I had the meatloaf, my wife had the sampler, and our son had the Caesar. All were good. (We were hungry and they hit the spot.) We were seated in a back corner. It was quiet and we felt great when we left. Dessert was ok (hummingbird Bundt cake) but not spectacular. This place is just our speed. (We decided against the shake - appreciated the review!)

Nice island, but I would definitely take Perfect Day at CocoCay over this. Love your videos, by the way.

Agreed with your review. We ate there today for lunch. The food was okay (salmon, pad Thai), service was good, but extremely expensive ($190 for 3 people). We were seated next to a window (yay!) but felt like Charlie Brown (“I got a rock”) as we kept seeing the same meteor fly by and not much else.

Awesome preview! I hope to go in the next couple of years. With this being the inaugural sailing, I wonder if there is a higher percentage of adults on that sailing than on a “normal” Disney Cruise itinerary. Did it seem that way? That could explain why Serenity Bay was crowded…

Do you think DCL will ever upgrade the TVs on their older ships? That’s a huge turn off for us because we really love to lay in bed and watch movies as a family at the end of the night.

Why are so many beach chairs behind the dunes and not on the beach. you can barely see the water. If you go get in the water you can't look back and check on your stuff? Shame you have to "rope drop" just to get a chair on the beach.

It looked like on that south end of the beach some people just carried some chairs to the edge of the water👍🏼 hope that’s ok cause that’s my go to beach position. They really messed up not putting adult area where family cabanas are at🤦🏻‍♀️ I go to the beach to relax and I don’t see that that’s what Disney gave us here🤷🏻‍♀️ castaway cay will be my priority destination and never just lookout cay🪰 unless they address walk, lack of shade, seating on the beach not behind a dune, flies, seating at serenity bay for bbq, tram all the way to Serenity bay, another shop…maybe near Serenity bay .

Great review!! I avoid the standard steakhouses. I buy Prime steaks only and I can prepare steaks better than most restaurants I go to, since I’m typically never ordering a plain steak. My fave on-site is Shula because it has a better more high end atmosphere and they prepare some steak dishes I’m less likely to make at home ie Steak Diane, even though Steak au poivre isn’t on the menu they’ve always made it when I ask.

Traveling with our 3 year old we had a blow up toddler bed and we used at the hotel before and after our stay along with white noise machines and a slumberpod. They let us keep our white noise machine but took the bed and tent. We got a ticket and picked it up from a table when we got off the boat.

I appreciate your pointing out the walk on the pier is no worse that walking the same distances at various points at WDW.

I’ve watched a lot of Videos about Lookout Cay. Here is what I think they need to improve the island. No particular order. 1. Bike carriages ran by the locals overseen by Disney from the ship to the island. That would be great money for locals. 2. Get the flies under control. 3. Some form of shade over the pier like they have with Perfect Day Coco Cay. 4. Have several water swings to use just a short walk into the water. 5. A walk/swim up water bar tiki area. 6. A pier that can take you out onto the water on the main east side of the island. Maybe even one with a clear glass floor to see any coral or sea life. Make it wheelchair accessible too. 7. Water spray misters along the board walk.

The walk would not bother me if I could bring my double stroller for my 2 toddlers. I usually just bring one popup for my now 1 year old (she has cruises at 8 & 11 months) and my 3 yo is fine w/o a stroller on the ship but that walk…. There is no room to bring a double stroller. We are set to go in December ‘24 on the dream & again on the magic in May ‘25. I hope they figure out something for young children by then.

50.00 Disney cruise line water bottle has to be corksical and they are worth the money.

Looks way, way too hot with not enough shade. Flies are unacceptable swarming the food. Looks like a bust to me and I am huge fan of DCL.

Do they stamp your passport? They stopped doing that at castaway right before we took our first cruise- kids were sad but they’re older now 😂 just wondering

Was this for the 7 day inaugural cruise? We are set to sail there on our 10 day cruise next month and worried from all the videos I’ve seen 😅

They need umbrella shades for that food line. They have to figure out how to mitigate the flies. It would be difficult but they may need to screen in those massive seating areas.
