Once I just traveled back to my home when I was in the trip of Oregon and then I just got this recommended to me.

They assigned the timings to the wrong approaches. If the FYA is longer, that means the other approach has 4.2 seconds. This approach should be 4.2 seconds because it is downhill, while the opposing approach should be 3.5 seconds.
@traffic.engineer21 күн бұрын
Why is the left turn signal holding red if the ped phase is on the right? It seems like the left turn signal is overlapping with its parallel phase instead of the opposing phase. This needs to bee corrected.
@peteryu952717 күн бұрын
It's a common feature in the area-the FYA rests in red until the left-turn detector detects a vehicle. It can reduce clutter; the red can also slow drivers down as they approach the stop bar.
@traffic.engineer16 күн бұрын
@@peteryu9527 Nevermind. Just realized there was a bicycle in the left crosswalk. It probably was actuated.
@traffic.engineer21 күн бұрын
At least I can make a left turn on red...
@traffic.engineer21 күн бұрын
This is just unnecassary sign pollution. A green arrow will never have a concurrent pedestrian phase, so that is a waste. There are already red arrows. What is the need for the R3-5L signs? There are red arrows, but the sign says "no turn on red ball". Georgia law does not allow right/left turn on red arrows, period. The red ball needs to be eliminated from the sign. And those through signalheads do not look like they are 8' apart. Horrible installation.

Seems like a programming issue with LPI. Needs some additional logic when programming LPI with an overlap phase.

It also did the same thing on River Road @ TV Highway Intersections. Flashing Yellow Arrow is in the Middle sharing on Steady Yellow. It skipped the Steady Yellow on that Bulb. Very Unsafe. I already let ODOT know about that Intersection that it needs to be fixed.
@matthewadventureexploratio659621 күн бұрын
Did you call ODOT to fix that Signal of skipping the Yellow Arrow Phase from Green Arrow to Red Arrow? Which is not good at all
@cjrthesignalfan23 күн бұрын
Pretty cool
@matthewadventureexploratio659627 күн бұрын
They need to start installing more Flashing Right Turn Arrows. The new one is to reprogram so it flashes in the middle sharing on steady yellow.

@Eliasgamer566.Ай бұрын
i don't see one, but a flashing red beacon or traffic signal means to stop so technically theres a sign to stop
@traffic.engineerАй бұрын
@@Eliasgamer566. Legally, yes. But the MUTCD requires a stop sign with all flashing reds.
