How old do you have to be to drive a scooter in Cambodia?🛵 After a long day at work , these garment workers have to go buy food and then cook them at home. very tiring & exhausting work. 🥱

I'm horrified to see so much rubbish and pollution around. Cambodia will not be able to progress much further until it helps the people to clean up this area and get them out of this extreme poverty. I don't think I can consume any of the street foods around here after seeing this.

This is really bad. The loan received from China should have been used in ways that actually helped Cambodians, such as water supply maintenance, river maintenance, road maintenance, and factory construction. Instead, corrupt Cambodian politicians put some of the money into their own pockets and used the rest for large-scale construction projects that only satisfied the Chinese construction companies. What on earth do casinos, resorts and luxury apartments have to do with local Cambodians?

I'm worried about clean water. I mean, you can't see what's in the water so it could be contaminated with chemicals you can see. silent killer. boiling water kills germ but it can't clean chemicals. Bacteria multiply fast in warm weather and I see meat, even though it's fresh, not put in cold storage to slow down bacterial growth. Nail salon don't clean their tools, people can pass fungal infection to others.... it's scary for people who don't know.

Always "just one more" to add........ I was absolutely unaware of how Cambodia had changed since the recovery from the Pol Pot atrocity. I was just trying a television viewer software when I got curious about TV from Cambodia. This was in about 2005. I was amazed at the quality of production that could come only from quite an investment in broadcast technology. I must admit I felt a sort of joy on behalf of the Cambodian people....... not a day/night go by without me dreaming of experiencing a place I've long admired. I had made a cherished friend via pen pal contact who spent most of her time (it seemed) diving at Phuket. I've had to accept the probability she was taken by the Boxing Day tsunami.

Because languages have always fascinated me, I was "browsing" pen pal sites based on learning languages. I was always curious about "crossovers" of languages in adjacent countries, and what commonalities existed. I knew that in India/Pakistan, there are 33 distinct languages....... imagine being a social worker there. One of the extremely few times I've engaged in chat online, I was on a Cambodian site. There was quite a lot of excitement in the air...... I think it was a day of celebration of journalist Dith Pran's birthday....... Pran was the companion of the New York Times journalist who exposed what became known as "The Killing Fields". There was so much national pride in that chat encounter it was quite touching.
