How does the high knee “catch” the lower leg? If you are still around, can you explain this?

There's difference in the distance between the knees at touch down (or initial contact) between each stride. When the right foot touches down in the middle video (1:42 ), the distance between both knees are further than when the left foot touches down (1:40). So it looks like he has better mechanics of left leg strike ??

Hahaha my feet barely leave the ground I just can’t flick my legs back and drive down because I get out of breath I’m seconds. I know it’s practice practice but I always automatically go back ti my own way. But then again, I don’t run for events or anything. I just run cause my body loves it. I know id be better for it if I ran like this.

Well, looking at a reference is certainly easier than trying to do it from imagination/memory. I keep making this discovery over and over. Thanks for the video.

@connorking984

Just teach yourself to associate fricked running with nightmares, i've had a lucid dream before because the way I was running in a dream annoyed me to the point of realizing the stupid running was how I run in a dream, I threw my water bottle at someone walking by after that and suddenly wasn't sure it was a dream for a moment ;-;

Also look at how the heel collapses into the buttocks to become one with the thigh to swing in sync in a forward direction to carry on the momentum for the next step as to maintain speed. This is nuts how perfectly the human body is created for running/jogging. Amazing!

Watching those distance runners makes me cringe at the impact of their heels smashing on the ground first with their knees behind their heels. It essentially shifts the load from the glutes (a muscle) to the knees (a joint). That will lead to a lot of repetitive stress injuries over time.
@StephenBoesch
@StephenBoesch 4 жыл бұрын
Yes this video did a v good job of demonstrating the effective style of sprinters. I have bad glutes injured all the time so it makes me sad to not be able to put it to work.

People say I run "weird". Some say run like a robot. The other day a guy (that was running behind me) that I should move my arms "more" and mimicked the way I was running by letting the arms almost still and separating the elbows from the body (which someone pointed that before). I don't think it's got to do with the arms, but I know they're right somehow

If you're still in high school go to your track coach and try out. You learn how to properly run their. One regret I never took up. You also get a heck of a lot faster, healthier, leaner, mentally fit, confident, etc!
