Diablo blades no joke. They make wood shop carbide tipped blades and they are the only thing I put on my table saw, miter box and circular saw. They cut through oak and any other hardwoods like butter. I don’t know why I didn’t check to see if they made other styles of blades. I’ll definitely have to give these a shot for my frozen lower strut mount bolt. Thanks for sharing!!!

Same year as my Sportster 1200 custom and will keep this in my library. The video helped me locate where the oil hose goes into that fitting with clamp so thanks 👍🏼 sorry this happened to you for I know you miss riding, good luck with your repair and I subbed on. 3 years? My Sportster engine blew out at 47K miles. The Harley dealer wants to charge me $7,000 for a new engine and installment but I was thinking about buying a used engine and installing it myself. Why did it take you so long? Was it the learning curve? Since I myself have absolutely no idea how to do this.

I switched to a normal car battery after a while, but it was a fun project. Some of the capacitors were showing signs of wear, like white powder coming out of them. It still worked fine, but it would benefit from some smarter circuitry to make sure caps don't charge/discharge too quickly or get unbalanced voltage, etc.

Hey my 05 sportster died on me while riding. Filled gas and changed oil. After I tried starting it again there was a rapid clicking noise. So I jumped it with my car and it turned on but it would die when I released the throttle. Turned it on again and had to keep the throttle steady idle. Also after that my speedometer blacked out and my back brakes became soft.

@thomasdowd2183

Brakes are not connected in any way to other systems, so if your brakes are soft, that's a separate issue. Sounds like your alternator may be going bad. You should try giving your battery a full charge before anything else.

Thanks for the straight forward video and the thoughts on the Diablo thick metal blades. I had some ceased bolts on the rear track arms of a 2011 BMW 328 in western PA. Thank God I found some at a local place and tried them against several Lowes blades that I had on hand and the difference was amazing. The Lowes ones were binding and one actually broke. The Diablo blade went through the bolt and the side of the arm. By the way I was using the same Harbor Freight $20 dollar saw. Thanks again!

@thomasdowd2183
@thomasdowd2183 Жыл бұрын
False. The bolts cost about $20 each at a Lexus dealership. A new control arm is a few hundred dollars. But none of that matters anyway because the bolts are stuck and need to be removed one way or another.

Man that's an interesting idea. Hard for me to say how well that would work, but if you saw someone do it then I guess it works! That depends. Are the lights coming on to indicate your battery is charged? Check your battery voltage with a multimeter. It's also possible that your starter solenoid is stuck. Try tapping on the starter with a mallet to free it up. Either way, you should replace that starter relay as well.

Check the battery voltage first with a multimeter. If it's below 12 V, your Harley probably won't want to start. Is anything else turning on when you turn the key to ON? Could also be an ignition issue or a fuse or relay. Check the basics first.
