To me, the most hilarious difference is that the non 'L' version has IS....like shouldn't it be the other way around? XD I do think the contrast is a bit better overall in the 'L' lens. I have mostly been disappointed by the color and contrast in non 'L' lenses in the RF mount. I had the 50mm F1.8 for awhile and absolutely hated it. Nothing about the end product looked good to my eyes. It is probably the same with this 85mm F2. They just don't coat them the same and they have far less corrections applied to the lens groups. The RF 'L' lenses also have blue color correction coatings/films in them that basically cancel out CA. I am fairly certain that the F2 has significant CA comparatively. There is nothing wrong with buying one of these if you are just starting and don't have an idea of what you want yet, but for pros and people with more artistic sense, color, contrast, bokeh, f-stop etc will really rankle us if things aren't just so.
@TMVVisualMedia5 күн бұрын
Fantastic input! I tend to agree with almost all your points. I have to admit that I use the 85mm f2 for my product photography because of the minimum focus distance. It comes in handy. The next L series macro is the 100 L series. But that lens is very niche in my opinion. But it also is only 1000 bucks. Which is the least expensive L series I think.
@FraterABYA5 күн бұрын
@@TMVVisualMedia I have the 100mm lens, and it is extremely worth the price tag. I think it's portrait potential is a little better actually than the 85 mm because of the very small min focus distance and the 1:1.4 ratio. On a FF camera it's hard to beat!
@TMVVisualMedia5 күн бұрын
Oooo that's a good point! Thanks for comment. Awesome points. My favorite for all purpose is the 28-70mm f2. That lens is my holy grail.

The problem that I have with people, not OP is this. Every cycle the last camera magically sucked, the last set of lenses magically sucked. Get everybody was fine when it was new. I own a '85 1.2 EF, and I tried the 85 1.2 RF on my R6 Mark II. I can honestly tell you that while the RF lens is nice, it is not that nice to justify $2,000 more.

I only have one question,Am using a Eos R8. The Rf50mm Is it good for videography?what about the stability with a gimpal ?is it too shaky?
@TMVVisualMediaАй бұрын
Wow! What a great idea for a video! If you know how to hold a camera steady then it will be OK but it also depends on the shots you're trying to take. Using a gimbal helps but it's not a magical device it still takes a long time to learn how to use properly. It does help though. And then there is warp stabilizer that can help in post. But truthfully I would go for the 35mm that has stabilization. Especially for run and gun type of shooting. What sorts of videos will you be making?

@@TMVVisualMedia yeaahhhhh i appreciate ❤️
@TMVVisualMediaАй бұрын
@ErdeZ911 I looked at your channel. It seems to me that there are several issues. Without knowing what your goals are i am not sure where to begin. Have you considered creating original music instead of taking music protected by copywrite laws and slowing them down and just adding reverb. What value are you providing to a viewer? There are other channels like lofi girl that have dozens of songs playing on loop for 6 hours at a time. Those channels are great because they can be played while someone studies or a café may play this Playlist for ambiance. Your channel seems to have just one song playing at a time and the audience will have to select a new song every time the song ends. Lots to consider. Again without knowing your goals it's hard to pin point what should be your next action. But your next move should be done with keeping the answer to the question "what value am in providing to the viewer" Happy to bounce some ideas around.

As a small streamer/youtuber for video games what would be your top 3 advice to get noticed?
@TMVVisualMediaАй бұрын
Most gaming channels I see have awful content that provides zero value. Generally speaking this is my top 3 pieces of advice. 1. Make videos between 8 to 10 mins long max. 2. Review gear and hardware that you already own. 3. Teach the audience something unique that you found within the game. Bonus tip. Get dedicated lighting and audio. A monitor can not be your main source of light and your head set can not be your mic source. Level up

It's definitely hard to make videos when you don't have a recording device. I would urge you to consider finding a way to secure a device that you can record your videos on first. Being able to be consistent is the lowest barrier to overcome and many new creators fail just because of their upload cadence.

I survived this hell and now im a happy familyman, trying to turn my negative past in something positive by helping other people. Im from austria, so its in german. Second channel is a creepypastachannel where the viewer can make his own choice how the story ends. For example the protagonist is in a forest and the monster is standing in front of him. If he should run as fast as he can then simply do nothing and the video goes on. When you wanna hide you click on the link in the video and you get another way of the story will end. Third channel is bout my 2 bulldogs. Funny videos with speechbubbles. And i created the 2 dogs in comic style to create animated videos as well. No channel gets views and i have no idea what i do wrong.
