How does it work in idle? It seems like the scooter will automatically run as soon as the engine runs.

ive torn bikes down but never really knew how the transmission works, you understand it alot better when you can visualize whats happening while youre shifting.

I needed a gear selection explanation to send a friend and found this one. Hey! I was the technical director of a Japanese motorcycle brand for 14 years and never saw anything this good. Who need's the factory tear-down manual? Brilliant! Well done you folks.

I have lathe that has the same system of adjusting the rpms. Pretty cool that even a scooter uses very similar technology

So this is synchromesh gearing. I've heard it for decades but I never visualised it before. This makes total sense! The notched free gears are still rotating with the rest of the system but without power delivery until the keyed gears are slid into them. This is really clever!

Hi, when i went to ride my bike the other day the gears wont shift when moving or stationary. Im not sure why its doing it as i was out on it just hours before and it was fine. Any ideas of how to fix it? Thanks

I was shifting from 4th to 3rd today, immediately giving it power, somehow it slipped in between the gears for 1-2 seconds, resulting in no power and a very low pitched engine noise before clicking into 3rd by itself. I'm afraid I damaged anything but the rest of the ride was fine with no issues. Does anyone know if this is a common thing to happen? Happened the first time for me.

Searched this because today was my first drive for a2 motorcycle category and i really wondered why does it stall so easily unlike a car, and why you cant just let the clutch progressively like in a car you rather need to hold it half released in the same place for 1 2 seconds before letting it fully, so good explanation love you❤
