Pokemon Yellow is pretty much to does with the incredibly long-running Pokemon anime. So far, this game was made after the anime was made and aired, while Red and Blue (or Green) were made and released before. The main protagonist's Pikachu who was his first and main Pokemon never evolved into a Raichu after the anime running for more than two decades and probably never will, ever. Let's Go Pikachu and Let's Go Eevee, mostly Let's Go Pikachu for the Nintendo Switch is pretty much a more complex and enhanced remake of Pokemon Yellow Version like FireRed and LeafGreen for Game Boy Advance were more complex and enhanced remakes of Pokemon Red and Blue version.

Often when I play Pokémon Yellow, I buy a Thunderstone to use on Eevee, and I'll first try to evolve Pikachu with it just so I can see it shake its' head "no."

It is possible to evolve it, of course if you transfer the pikachu to a different version. You can evolve it, then your done. But it ain't gonna follow you

there's no way to have a Raichu in this game unless you trade it, because your Pikachu will refuse to evolve and you can't catch another Pikachu in the game

actually you can at viridian forest with %5 percent chance (i dont remember its name fully it maybe wrong but you do first trainer battles in here at gen 1 and fr/lg)

In red and blue you can get him in viridian forest and the power plant. But you carnt in yellow, your just get him as a starter you carnt evolve

Even if you use a cheat to get another pikachu you still couldn’t get raichu cuz that pikachu would refuse as well

+talitoXsparks I know you need to trade in order to evolve it but I don't know if it'll work with another yellow...give me 5 minutes and I'll have the results (don't know why I wrote all that, I'm not even hitting post until after) results came back positive. the pikachu from another yellow evolved.
