I find it rather annoying that Sumiko doesn't state when the cartridge has a bonded stylus. I was interested in the Bluepoint #3 but it seems odd that it is bonded at a $500 price point. I have an Audio-Technica AT-VM95ML that has a nude square shank Microlinear stylus and only costs $169. The Ortofon 2M Blue has a nude elliptical for $189. I'm not referring to sound quality, just construction.

Love the old ADS LS300. I have the 300s on my office system and used to have the 200’s mounted on the rear deck of my 1978 Checker Marathon running on a 100 watt Nakamichi amp. Even for such a small speaker they have amazing kick in the bass. Thanks for this great video. Some great memories in these and learned about some new stuff I never knew existed.

Hello, I am a long time viewer and I have the Cornwall IV speakers which I love. I was wondering if you have figured out a way to incorporate isolation feet to these speakers? Also, I have the sheepskin covers on my Cornwalls, it is a special order. Thankyou

Just curious: what happened if your CD had more than 15 tracks? I understand that back then most of them didn’t, but anyways just curious how the player would react, and if even would recognise/read the disc at all.

OK... my .02. I demo'd all these Klipsch speakers back in the 80s, with exception to Jubilee. The sound quality remains. K-horns and Cornwalls outperform the others. Biggest bang for the buck are Cornwalls. I've had mine since 1980. The question remains. Should I upgrade to Cornwall IV?
@savicvladan68022 күн бұрын
Yes, legendary. But, nothing special. You just look inside, everything made of poor materials, electronics very bad etc...

Danny Richie from GR-Research (search YT) has lately offered a large XO upgrade for these with FR improvements , I think well worth the investment!

Technics is off its meds. The two fully functioning SL-1210 Mk2s I purchased on active duty were $278. & $312(post Oct’87 stock market crash) They still bring the magic this very day🌹 I’d never go anywhere near this insane inflation, these days.

I wonder if this could be connected between an external DAC and a integrated amp. You would then be adjusting the tone before it gets to the amp.

Opens the box and smacks the delicate main bearing shaft onto the table, then proceeds to rough handle this "precision instrument" througout the rest of the video. He will need his test equipment to help repair the damage he inflicted on the turntable. Does this guy actually have a hi-fi business?

Understandably I've been buying and listening to collective since 1975.. put always seek out the previous model of the heritage speakers that you want and you will save thousands of dollars and the difference between let's say the heresy three and the Harris and four are virtually no different to each other and the way they sound and the way your ears perceive them in the average size living room bedroom or basement

I find these kind of videos weird. You're looking at an extremely roundabout way of reading a digital audio file. If the digital version (uncompressed, untouched PCM or FLAC) exists.. there's no need for a CD player. You can play the digital audio through whatever DAC you like. If a rip of the disc doesn't exist... make one using any commodity DVD/Blu-ray reader, then feed to DAC of choice as above. No idea why you'd need (or want) a period correct CD deck. It's an opto-mechanical thumb drive.

I love Nak gear and own a couple myself, but the goofy need to use little screwdrivers to make fine adjustments to BIAS for each tape type instead of just having knobs there is beyond belief.

Yes, it sounds sublime but that's too much to pay for a cartridge.

The CDP 101 is one of the most atrocious sounding players ever made. The CX20017 DAC was pretty poor linearity wise, and the multiplex dual channel implementation didn't help: The DAC converted both channels alternatively, and there was no hold and sample circuit so the output from each channel was played sequentially with a delay of 0,11 to 0,16 ms.

Moving the turntable about like that could damage the main bearing housing. This is a customer's turntable... did the customer expect to receive a damaged turntable?
