I sit at this table and I stare at my hands Everyday they go to look up They're more like my dads And I trace these veins that run up and down my arms From where I'm sitting, I trace sixty more years And I've learned to count on nothing 'Cause most times its all I've got And all I see is me, my roots are starting to ride All you wanna do is win when you're losing You say you want some competition, well, I'm not that strong Just put away your ladder, I'm happy where I am My fate seems clear to me, man, it's out of my hands And sometimes I feel like a genius, other times I feel like a fool My friends indulge me, but most times I think I know it all But mostly I feel like a little boy, I'd rather feel pain than show fear I don't wanna make excuses, but my horoscope said it would be a bad year And sometimes I see myself getting killed On one of these big scary streets And then I'd have nothing to live up to And no expectations to me, oh All you wanna do is win when you're losing You say you want some competition, well, I'm not that strong Just put away your ladder, I'm happy where I am My fate seems clear to me, man, it's out of my hands

I hope to God that Myles brings the tour through NZ/Australia, because I have always wanted to see Mayfield Four songs done live (even if only acoustically). I wonder if he'll ever do Summergirl on this tour? He knows he has to do the ending to that one :D

Judy Collins knows that coal miners still have to fight daily for a safe & healthy workplace. To hear how miners who make safety complaints today are treated by outlaw coal operators, check out Raymond Crooke's song "Big Coal Don't Like This Man At All" on KZfaq. 1293. Big Coal Don't Like This Man At All (Original) - with Marco Acca on guitar It tells the true story of Kentucky coal miner Charles Scott Howard, who stood up for safety at an underground mine operated by Arch Coal and was fired as a result. He filed a whistleblower case, won his job back and is working in the mines again!

Credit to the brilliant Billy Edd Wheeler who wrote this iconic coal mining song in 1962.

:-) Good on you Jan. You got the kids up dancing, and it sounds OK. After all, it's outside, in a park. Oh, and you haven't aged a day since. That's what we visually challenged and age advantaged people tell ourselves.
