Distilled water is a NO-GO for espresso machines, since it means corrosion. Ask a y technician or watch a video or two on KZfaq. Used filtered water that takes away calcium, then add your minerals.

I was thinking 2 sizes of cast iron skillets stacked one inside the other. Or tea towel with metal meat mallet. Use metal sifter to get fine ground for espresso, corse/medum for French press.??

I like the idea behind the Kruve, but its not necessary if you have a decent grinder.

What a great video! It was very clear for all the steps, and it worked beautifully. I did not want to bother or wait to get the cleaning pellets, so I looked somewhere else and they said rice would be the same. I use rice and clean everything out like you said and perfect, save me a lot of money

Nice video, recognizing it’s a bit dated. I was considering the home version except that you now are required to pay a monthly subscription fee in order to modify any of the standard profiles. I am now strongly leaning to the Nucleus Link.

Great review!! One thing what i not understand is, for an Americano normally first goes the espresso and then the water, the sage barista touch gives water first, that is then a long black? Why is that so?

Just bought this and this review is friggin AMAZING!! Thank you!!!! So sick of paying $7+ dollars for a small latte at Starbucks to only wait 25 min for a watered down or burnt tasting drink!!! Used FRESH grounds (roasted within 30 days) and followed some tips here and just made a drink better than any latte from Starbucks. Crazy!!!

Seems like a very nice machine in theory but won’t give you a true espresso with it’s own settings.. I noticed myself that the coffee poured too quickly and was watery. You’ve got to work with grind, grams and time and save those settings. Not much different than any manual. Once you have the grind set for the type of coffee on the grinder, you’re all set. You just tamp, use a small dosing cup and ready to brew. Of course then it’s important that you have s powerful milk frother. Still on the fence about this machine but I’ll say that it is s beauty. I’ve asked below about the Touch Impress and how it compares. Have you tested it?
@Victoria-bl4tw
@Victoria-bl4tw 8 ай бұрын
I couldn’t edit the above but suspect based on your comment about a small cup not fitting the space well for brewing that a small shot glass for espresso may not sit well either. Either way, would love to see a demo on the Touch Impress. Thanks for all the effort you put into this.

Thanks for your thoughts and feedback. I haven't been in a position to produce coffee videos in a long time, so I don't think i'll be able to do anything with the Touch Impress, unfortunately.

@Coffee Lovers TV Enjoyed the review. Thanks for all the detail, here, 5 years later! I was perusing reviews of the Behmor Brazen and came across this. I just ordered the Brazen Plus 3.0 after having used the BUNN Velocity Brew for the last 9+ years. Recently got pretty heavy into lightly roasted coffees, and the BUNN just doesn't get hot enough (only about 185 deg F directly out of the sprayhead). Is the Brazen still your go-to autodrip maker in the fall of 2023? I subscribed!

Hey thanks! I haven't been able to make videos for this channel in a long time, so I missed your comment. I was actually using the Behmor daily until a couple years ago. I switched to the Breville Precision Pro simply because I found when I want to use an auto drip it's because we've got guests, and I need a lot more (the breville does an excellent 60 ounces) - amzn.to/47GG2kl That being said, if I was just brewing for myself or maybe one other person, and I wanted the auto brewer, I'd pick the Behmor. Still love it. So quiet and brews a great cup. (when I'm brewing for myself now it's either chemex or kalita)
@johnmpifer
@johnmpifer 7 ай бұрын
@@Coffeeloversmag thanks for replying. I also looked at the Breville precision, and, for a time, the glass carafe model was actually on sale for about $230. And I was strongly considering it. But, then it went back up to the normal $280 or so, and I felt that that was just too much. And, the thermal carafe model is well over $300. I bought the brazen, and I am really enjoying it! Incidentally, I also just picked up a moccamaster on sale for $233 for the thermal carafe model, on Black Friday sale. Having fun with that one too! That being said, I also, do a lot of pour over with my V60 and Chemex.

Thanks for the video. I've been using the same Bodum stainless steel French Press for an astounding 17 years and it still looks and functions as well as the day it arrived. I use a coarse grind but still find there is always sediment in my cup. Thats what intrigued me about this Espro. I was waiting for the end of your video to show the bottom of your cup since the elaborate filter system is perhaps the singular feature that differentiates this brand as superior. It costs over twice what my Stainless Bodum does and mine also has a very solid and esthetically pleasing appearance. Needing all that extra room for the huge filter makes it appear notably larger. My grinder died today and just ordered a a Fellow Ode 2 so was going on a spending spree replacing several coffee related things and am debating this new press as well. Not sure I can justify $150 for just eliminating some residue. But a finer grind might produce a smoother cup. Thanks for your work and input on this video!
