That's ridiculous having to go 70 miles to catch a red snapper

You don't need cell service to use an iPad or other tablet type device. Whatever device you do use does need to have GPS. I use an iPad and a Samsung tablet. The tablet only has GPS. It cost me $126 at Best Buy. It doesn't need a data plan just GPS. I use my iPad for my wireless Faruno radar and the Samsung tablet for Navionics.

Couldn't you just use a 4-way battery switch and not need the blue sea or fuses.
@AJOutdoors19 күн бұрын
Yes you could, but the motor will not be charging both batteries, only the one selected. Let say you have it on battery one, go out fishing, maybe anchor up, have radio on, graph, possibly lights. Time to leave and the battery is too drained to start the motor. At the least you have to go back and manually change the switch, and at worst you find that the second battery is dead because it has not been getting any charge. Once installed, this system is basically plug and play, if for some reason the start battery is low, it will automatically use the house battery.
@matthewkahrs81648 күн бұрын
@AJOutdoors1 ok, I ask because I was under the impression that with the motor on and the switch on 1&2, it will charge both batteries. Then, when the motor is off, put the switch on the house battery only. Then, even starting battery, can't die. Also, in the worst case, both are dead or very weak. You can put switch on 1&2 in hopes both batteries together will start engine. On a side note, do you have a video or know how to find schematics to wire two engines with two starting batteries and a house battery?
@AJOutdoors18 күн бұрын
@@matthewkahrs8164 So this was on my previous boat with 1 motor. But now I have a 28ft Grady White with twin 225s. It uses three batteries, one only starts the port side engine, the other two are wired in parallel and start the starboard motor and power the house (everything else). This setup uses 2 battery switches (one for each set) but you can still put them both in 1&2 if power is too low in one side. So, what exactly would you like to see? I can get you pictures.
@matthewkahrs81647 күн бұрын
@AJOutdoors1 What you have, twin 200s, two 4 position switches, three batteries total. Wire it so each engine is charging their own start battery but also both engines are charging the same large house battery.

This is bad information. A glass full of ice and water gets down to about 40 degrees. If you freeze the prob in the ice and come back to it the next day, that will be 32 degrees. Traeger needs to get their numbers right.
@AJOutdoors1Ай бұрын
The food safety industry has used this method to calibrate thermometers for decades. It is the proper method and does get to 32 degrees +-2.

i installed this yester day and i get electricity to both house and engine but i dont get any led signal on the acr, i have the small ground to a fuse box that is on the house side is that not correct? should i pull the ground with fuse to the start battery instead?
@AJOutdoors1Ай бұрын
The ground with fuse should connect to the negative bus bar that both batteries ground to.

I have about 10 pairs of these glasses, different styles I liked. I did not know they have different sizes. When I found out, I reached out, just on a whim to see about exchanging my standard sizes for smaller ones. 138mm front bridge compared to 145mm. Longer temple length also. I sent 3 standard size back and got the small. Absolutely fantastic customer service. No questions. I will support them over anyone else. Simply the best.

Any tips on removing the fluid from the bleeder hose that connects to the bleeder valves after the job is done?
@jeffcoston5084Ай бұрын
Never mind. Just figured out you can use a punch to gently push in the fitting until they lock open and drain. After drained, you press open the fitting rings as if to install onto bleeder and it will close back up the fittings.

I have another question: Do I have to run the engine wires to the negative bus bar and the switch, can they go direct to the battery?

Positive from motor goes to the switch. Negative goes can go to bus bar or the battery.

I'm wondering if the liquid tape interferes with the electrical current when coating connections or do you coat parts after install?
@AJOutdoors12 ай бұрын
Coat it after connecting. But it is optional. While it will help protect from corrosion, it is a pain to remove if you have to change anything.

Thanks well done video, my 2004 200 hp opti ( new to me ) has some junk under the red fuel filter not quite as bad as yours though. Do you think i should have the injectors and fuel rail cleaned as well or have you done that? The junk in my vst is from old grey gas line detereration which previous owner replaced with new black rubber gaslines before i purchased. Another question how did you get the gas line off the vst in the bottom right corner, it has 10mm bolt and a small plate does the removel of that bolt allow the line to be removed?
