Great issue! And about where you left off, Conan certainly got... a grip on the situation! 🤘

Excellent point about sword and sorcery being very much an American genre at its core. At least Howard's sword & sorcery anyway.
@metalmoviesbrewskys3 күн бұрын
I always felt Conan as a character was the lone frontiersman and outlaw ready to explore and unearth new mysteries of the uncharted, but at the same time, a tribal warrior thirsty for battle. Undoubtedly pure American. I would add Conan with a bit of Celt he is a cowboy and Indian cooked up in a cauldron.

I have this one! I found it in the local creators section of my LCS. I got a lot of theor stuff, like City of Hate, and Gator Man Kills. Good stuff!
@metalmoviesbrewskys14 күн бұрын
That's cool. It sounds like a very supportive LCS. Those types of LCS are keeping the medium alive because they showcase indie, and when the indie artists and writers grow, so does the legacy of comics.

You would get your 5 bucks sir! Richard Pace draws in inks and water colours when needed. I think his style is uniquely suited for this story, the brutality and primal nature of the narrative suits the viceral scratching of the pen work. Also, Richard Pace has a KZfaq channel as well, does weekly drawings. Great content my friend!

Nice look at a killer issue. Yeah, they really dropped the ball on the generic cover. But the interior of the issue is terrific. Great comments on fan art options. Titan really doing a great job on this monthly title. Not crazy about issue #2 of Savage Sword ( horrible art) but overall, this is a great age for Conan fans! CROM!

Yeah I'm a big fan of this Del A Tore art. Definitely some Buscema influence but he's got his out thing going as well. Doug Braithwait does the art every four books so you'll get some variety there as well. He's does a great job too. Thanks for stopping by I really appreciate it🍻

Love the review man! If I may offer some notes! You are correct that La Marriene is his cause of devotion, however, Judex's monologues are actually a dialogue with the people of Paris. 2. The Widow was one of the names of the guillotine, as the gun uses the metal of its blade as the material. However. The face on the gun is La Marriane, the French embodiment of revolutionary justice. I am so, so glad that you loved the book! Neff and I worked hard at getting this script just right, and when partnered with Fabrizios art, Judex was something special.

Thanks for the review, Matt. FUN FACT; The cover for issue #1 of SOLTAC is the very first drawing of Dextor Barrow ever created by an artist. It was Gonzalo's first submission to show me what he could do. My own sort of napkin at a restaurant story.

Should've known theyd find a way to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory, having a success like The Last Ronin under your belt then going straight to a Talk-a-thon. I notice this a lot, that when the writer is some sort of aspiring novelist the book is really word heavy, but when the writer is also the artist it tends to be one big, poorly transitioned action scene. The writer/artist duos who can find that sweet spot in-between seem to be increasingly rare.
