What happens to gardens that are not treated when they should be treated is they might become infested with bugs. I have some plants growing where I am currently living outside, and the leaves were being eaten, and are almost gone. I did not treat what was placed outside, and I know bugs can eat the leaves of a plant. When growing a plant outside assuming you, or someone else wants to keep it healthy then it should be properly treated. No dish soap ! No traps !
@briankrenzelak43918 күн бұрын
In the case of Japanese beetles, I have found that if you use store bought traps, it just attracts more of them. The dish soap I use here is just in the bucket of water, the idea being that when I dump the bugs into that bucket, they cannot release any pharamones to attract any other bugs. I put nothing on my plants or in my garden other than water, grass clippings and the weeds I weeded from it. After 3 days of this videos technique, I went from a few hundred Japanese beetles to I can barely find one.

@@briankrenzelak439 You made a mistake, and I quote: " I put nothing on my plants or in my garden other than water, grass clippings and the weeds I weeded from it." I think there is a couple of good things you have done with your plants, and 1 bad thing, and the 1 bad thing is why you have an infestation of bugs. You putting nothing on your plants is your choice to make. If your plants become infested again then this would be your problem, and your fault. If you missed a bug, or a couple of them then you would still have a problem, so this should have been dealt with whenever you planted your plants outside, so from my point of view you neglected your plants. Think of it like this okay. You refusing to protect what you have can result in loss, and unfortunately there is noting that can be done to reverse any bad thoughts that were had, and the results as well.

What would you suggest? Always looking to learn. @@knowledgeandmultiskilled
@knowledgeandmultiskilled18 күн бұрын
@@briankrenzelak439 I suggest starting over, and this is exactly what I have done, and more than 1 time by the way. I suggest removing all the plants, and yes this would involve killing them then making sure the soil is fine would be your next step. If I were you then I would want to use soil that has not been exposed to anything. I know of 2 different options that can be used to protect plants, and both options would require you to go shopping. It would be your choice to make if you want to use 1, or both options. To be on the safe side I think using both options would be a good idea. Regarding myself, I unfortunately currently do not have the space that is required to properly protect plants outside. I am planning to get the space that is needed, so I can protect what I want to grow outside, and this is something that I am working on. I have done my research on how to grow, and I also experimented as well. I hope if I can get my hands on a piece of property then I can grow what I want outside, and maybe show other people what I learned.

@@knowledgeandmultiskilled i honestly do not mind the bugs that much. I do what I do to mitigate their effect. Starting over is not the route I am going to choose at this time. The thing is I get way more produce out of my little garden then I need. I give most of it away. Mainly I judge the success of each year's garden on what it produces. Every year we feed hundreds out of this garden. And on top of that I derive alot of peaceful moments in this garden. I appreciate your input. Please stay in touch.
