Do you buy the turbo kit for GT on this car? I know it has the 350 manifold so i dont know if it needs the 350 kit or GT kit.

Call up Hellion on the phone if it isnt listed online. The Mach 1 kit is different and special. It needs a handful of changed to fit the larger front coolers, intake, etc. its more similar to a GT350 kit but they should have a Mach 1 specific option

Well that is good. It’s always better when they come out easy. I wound up making another video when working on my 1964 Comet specific to just spring compressors. After having to buy a few types for different jobs i figured it was time to explain
Is this kit specifically for the Mach 1 or do we order the GT version and it will work?

There are differences for The Mach to mate to the GT350 intake, fit around various coolers, etc. You have to specify its a Mach for correct fitment

The short answer is it shouldn’t be a problem, especially when closed. When opened Id try and place them so you at least have a foot to 18” of space between the sensors and cutout opening but even that is likely conservative.

Hi, never seen anyone use a brass tee nor has it been suggested to me as an option when you’re out of ports! Does it work, fan comes on and off as it should? I take it the other probe is a temperature sensor… is it working correctly? For some reason I was thinking the probe wouldn’t be in the coolant, but there I go thinking again 😂
@truckandroll9893 күн бұрын
Aside from maybe aesthetics (i.e., brass fitting on an aluminum intake) it works great. So long as it’s the correct NPT thread it really doesnt matter whether you use brass, aluminum, steel, etc. On this setup both are coolant temperature but one is for my gauge inside the car on the dash and the second for the electric fan. You could use a similar approach with oil if you only had one tap but needed to know pressure and temperature.
@daves4853 күн бұрын
@@truckandroll989 hey man,you are on to something, on my Chevy my intake only has one port for my temp, the radiator probe was inconsistent, I’m in the head right now but too hot, fan stays on. Great question. A couple things you will need to do first. Disable both traction control and stability control. Sometimes the latter can be difficult but will be required otherwise the car will fight you. Second, determine whether you have an open differential or a limited slip. There are a few ways to do this either on a slipper surface, doing a burnout, or jacking the rear tires up and spinning one. So long as you can do those two things you can start sliding around :)

Can't you remove the tie rods and then find the center of the box?
@truckandroll98920 күн бұрын
Yes, you could. What I realized in putting everything back together is the range of travel of the box (with everything disconnected) could be centered but when all is re attached you may have less movement (i.e., steering stops, rubs, other issues, etc.). At the end of the day I found it as crucial to find the “rough center point” of the full range of motion and then center your wheel. Sometimes the wheel could be slightly off. If its not too bad thats fine and then they center wheel (near center of rack) and align car. If you are way off you may have to re clock the wheel. I ended up doing a home alignment before taking it in to a shop and got it pretty close.
@mooosestang19 күн бұрын

I have a 1966 Chevy Nova Super Sport and very difficult to go thru the gears. I am considering to switch to a Hydraulic Clutch. I have a manual transmission now. What do I need to consider?
@truckandroll98926 күн бұрын
Without knowing your trans type you have to find a spot to mount a master and slave cylinder. I dont love internal (concentric) slave cylinders because when they fail the whole trans has to come out. They can be a pain to bleed sometimes and you have to route a hydraulic line ensuring it stays away from hot engine components. Otherwise they drive like a new car. My grandmother could use the clutch in my Comet. Once it is setup right it makes the car a lot of fun but its more tedious to get setup
@ralphevock126 күн бұрын
Thank you I am going to take it to a local garage that works on old classics. I just wanted to know if it possible. Do I have to change out the transmission?

@@ralphevock1 shouldnt have to unless its an older transmission that no one makes a kit for. The external slave, like what I have on mine, could actuate the stock fork with some measurements/checks. Call Modern Driveline and they can likely help too.
@truckandroll98926 күн бұрын
I did some Googling for you. Assuming you have a Muncie 4 spd it looks like there are a handful of hydraulic clutch conversions online. They use the concentric style slave cylinder. Pro tip: make sure you install a longer bleed hose if you go that route to make servicing it simple.

Feel a lot of back pressure, notice that you mentioned that too. Any tips to get it through easier? No way I can push it all down in 3 seconds! Reason I’m thinking that there’s still air in the line is that it grinds trying to get it in reverse but goes in all 5 gears . Any info would be appreciated!
