Man. I had a great c-section. 10.5 lbs baby. Pain was very well managed and I was home in 2 days. I was 44 years old.

Thank you so much for describing the difference between an epidural and spinal. I had an epidural with my first emergency C-section and having a spinal with my 2nd. I felt a *ton* of pressure with my epidural and i remember it being quite uncomfortable.

I'm a retired elementary teacher. I would highly recommend the Magic Treehouse book series by Mary Pope Osborne. They are great reading stories and incorporate a lot of history and geography. My students always loved them. You could probably find them in the library.

You’re so brave to tell your story. These stories need to be told. We should ALL be aware that many of the radical state laws being passed in post-Roe v. Wade America will make this type of situation 100 times worse and more dangerous for countless women, and women of color disproportionately. Children in America should not be losing their mommies to childbirth or miscarriage, but those numbers are ticking up. Read about what the 20 women in Texas went through. Some of them will never be able to become mothers now. They’re even passing laws to make it illegal to be in possession of the surgical implements and drugs used to take care of a woman during a miscarriage. In Idaho, doctors can’t even intervene until a woman is literally dying. Rightwing politicians view women’s lives as expendable in favor of a non-viable pregnancy, ladies. Be aware. Be vigilant. Don’t stop talking about your experiences.

Bethany, your dollhouse makeovers are gorgeous. I love how you show that dollhouses can be appropriately scaled and designed for kids without all the pink/purple hype. These could be as much at home in a kids’ bedroom or playroom. As in the family living room.

Thanks for the video ♥ I am very anxious about the postpartum after a c-section... I hope the pain is bearable😅 Both c-sectuon and vaginal birth sound so scary to me. But due to a pathological problem of mine , i am stuck with the c-section option only

I had an emergency C-section after 36 hours of labor and 2½ hours of pushing. Trying to give birth vaginally was a nightmare for me. I was so relieved to finally have a C-section and get him out. I'm having a scheduled C-section in a few days and I'm so grateful to not have to try to have babe vaginally. Recovery really isn't all that bad either. You're going to do amazing!

I froze lots of homemade bean and cheese burritos, meatloafs, pasta, and pesto chicken w/ potatoes. I wish I would’ve remembered big undies that would go over my incision. I was happy to have my belly binder and shoes that would fit my giant swollen feet. This time around I’ve almost completely stopped bleeding at almost 4 weeks. My pain was much more this time around, but it made my swelling seem not so bad comparatively 😂. My feet and legs were like balloons both times. I didn’t need the heavy pain meds with my 1st, but absolutely needed them with my 2nd.

If I have a third I’m going to do the same. 🙏🏼 I will say, I’m nervous about the first trimester with 2 kids. That first trimester kicked my butt with my second pregnancy - I had migraines for my first time in my life and I was soooooo tired 😩😩

How do you manage to exercise during pregnancy? How have you been feeling? I was really hoping to have an active pregnancy with my 1st and found it impossible with constant nausea and fatigue. It's definitely not what I was expecting... now thinking of having a 2nd one trying to plan for a better pregnancy the 2nd time around and would really appreciate some more realistic tips for being active as postpartum recovery took me forever, and I know the benefits are so good.

I had scheduled out time in my day specifically for going to the gym which helped me stay more motivated. Even when I did t feel like it or felt the best I still went and did something. I also made myself a practical plan of exercises to do so I had a purpose to my workouts. Now I’m just mostly prioritizing movement (walking/light jogging) and retaining strength. I hope that helps! 🥰

I'm wondering if anyone could recommend some reading books for a thirteen year old. I am tutoring this student for SAT and scholarly writing, but the parents would like me to recommend some library books. The family is from India. I am not sure of their religion. I want to give him books that will influence him in Judeo- Christian values and beliefs without being overt. Thanks for any help with this. 🤍

Thank you for making this video. Tomorrow is my scheduled c-section. Since im high risk t1d, I've been the whole pregnancy filled with fear about the consequences and dangers by the Dr and gynos. Some as scary as "you can die on the table!" And Ive done everything to avoid the dangers. Unfortunately, the little one is happy being breeched and refused to flip so Im stuck doing c-section. These last days have been emotional roller coaster fearing the worst but hoping for the best. Your video truly helped ease the tension i had and i thank you for that.

@evm13626 I was so stressed out the night prior, my sugars and BP were everywhere and had diarrhea 😂. The day of, I let them know and the team was super kind and joked with me and they let me know everything they were doing which was very helpful. I got in, they gave my my robe and had me changed. They took me and the husband to the recovery room. Checked my vitals and inserted the iv, put these boots on my legs which they will later pulse to keep blood flow . Hubby was given the scrubs but had him wait til they were ready. We arrived at 8am. Surgery wasn't til 10am. A nurse came in and did a final ultrasound tonmake sure baby was still breech (he was) At 9:30am the anaesthesiologist came in and explained everything we signed some final paperwork and they brought the wheelchair. Hubby was told to scrub up and wait outside. I was wheeled into the operating room (super cold and super intimidating) they had me sit on the table. Gyno came in and played music. A nurse stood in front of me and explained to bend over like a cat over a pillow while she helps me and I would feel a pinch but try not to move. The anaesthesiologist then rubbed something and I was expecting a bee sting but honestly, maybe my pain levels were high, it just tickled and then a second later, I felt a warmth from my stomach go down my legs. They then helped me on the table and strapped my arms. I heard from another video suggest to tap your fingers so you concentrate on that instead of your legs so I desperately tapped my fingers (but honestly I was more scared than anything it's not bad) you can't feel your legs at this point and you can't feel your toes move. Gyno and the team started rubbing this orange stuff and marking the location while the anaesthesiologist explained what he was connecting to my iv. There was two interns in my room which I joked around with cause they seemed more nervous than me. They finally put the curtain up. And Let me tell you, I was balling tears at this point, excited and nervous. I had mucus in my nose while the nurse by me cooed me that everything would be OK and put the hose on my nose for oxygen (they don't insert it, its just , on the surface) omg, the oxygen and my snot made bubbles and tickled my nose and I thought both my hands were strapped down. Found out quick on hand wasn't strapped and I thought someone messed up so when the two dr turned around I quickly scratches dmy nose and hid my hand. They brought the hubby in and then the nurse told me he left one arm loose just in case I needed to scratch so I felt like an idiot. 😅 anyways not even 5 mins the gyno was telling the hubby to take out the phone to take photos and videos. That's when we heard our baby and hubby nervously took photos. I was high risk t1d so they had to check the baby's vitals make sure his sugar didn't drop so they couldn't bring him to me asap but they had the hubby go to him. BTW you don't feel anything except what feels like someone moving your belly around and some slight pressure but no pain. Once the baby was ready they brought him to me. I was with him for a bit and then they had hubby and the baby go to the recovery room. I was in the room another 15 mins and they finished closing me. They brought another bed and pulled me onto it. By this time the tap was slowly going g away, still didn't feel anything but I felt my toes move (felt asleep) we were in the room for 2 hours had nurses checking on me 30 mins make sure I can move my legs. I was allowed 1 visitor at a time or I could've slept. I was so nervous I couldn't sleep so my close family one by one came to see see me.(baby was with nurse regulating his dropped sugar) once the 2hrs was good and I had a room, they rolled me to my room and baby was brought in if say 10 mins later. HIGHLY RECCOMEND TO BREASTFEED ONCE THE BABY ARRIVES NO MATTER IF THEY SUFFER SUGAR DROPS. IF YOU CANT LATCH, ASK FOR A PUMP IF YOU DIDNT BRING ONE!!! anyways, you can't eat anything for 24hrs so they give you juices and water. Make sure to raise your legs to get all that excess liquid out of your legs or you'll ve super swollen like me. BTW you have a catheder so once the pitocin is gone, that's when they remove it. Feels weird being removed. They change you to the hospital undies with the big pad ifyo didnt bring your own. (Go a size bigger if you do buy depends) After 6hrs a nurse comes in and helps you up. They give you this breathalyzer to test your lungs and they help you up. You slowly walk, (please be careful you will feel drunk and drowzy) everything else is just recovery which i think is worse thsn the surgery itself. You might feel strong to do it yourself, dont. Ask for help, this is your time to recover. 1st night you wont sleep at all. Between checking baby's breathing, feeding baby every 2 hours and just sore, you wont sleep. try to get rest the second day. BTW, gyno will come in and will remove the gauze over the incision. ASK THEN TO BE NICE CAUSE MINES RIPPED THE GAUZE AND I LEFT BRUISES ON THE POOR NURSES ARM FROM THE PAIN AND JUST NOT EXPECTING IT) other than that, its not that bad.
