Looks like the bike lane needs a fence divider to keep the walkers out. People in the bike lane are the cities duller bulbs.

This is why I'm glad I left. NYC is a cesspool of humanity stupidity and ignorance. They are all standing in the bike lane and acting dumbfounded when they see someone riding a bike. I will never understand the appeal of living in this over priced, crime ridden shit hole.

But yet they live in NYC and choose to cross the busiest pedestrian bridge in NYC when the Manhattan bridge is right next to it and has dedicated bike lanes that are less busy. They are psychos.

these bikers are twats . they even fuck with other bikers, there being restarted there just isn't enough room. pedestrians always have right of way, you don't do this in a car on the road.

It all boils down to RESPECT and following RULES! If you’re not a bicycle stay the heck out of the damned bike lane!!!!! I love how people look stunned and or annoyed when he’s trying to pass. It’s a FUCKING BIKE LANE! What do you think I’d going to be using it? Pedestrians also love to walk in the middle of a busy public street. I’ve left bars/clubs in Manhattan and drive down side streets at 3-5 AM TO FIND sometimes 3,4 or more people spread out across the street slowly walking down it blocking traffic then when I lightly tap my horn as a friendly warning I either get a startled look as if OH MY GOD. Car in the roadway OR worse get cursed at as if I am doing something wrong!

This would piss me off so much. It's the most CLEARLY signed bike lane I've ever seen. Even the footpath is clearly signed!! No excuse!!

Bike lane is CLEARLY marked as is the pedestrian path !!! Unfortunately pedestrians tend to amble without thinking where they are going. Near where I live there are big parklands with a road around its perimeter together with a bike lane. Once per month there is a 'car free' day and people walk on the road AND the bike lane without realizing that cyclists are entitled to use the park that day. The parklands authority fails to post signs telling people to keep off the bike lane and people get run over all the time !!!

I don't know how bikers deal with this. I feel like it's futile

I counted about 10,000 pedestrians and few bikes. Swearing as well. Need to slow down on the bike in a area with high pedestrian numbers
