If you have sdr 35 perforated pipe would you use that the same way as the frechdrain man blue perforated pipe? Should it be on small bed of rocks the burrito wrapped?

We don’t like using pvc perforated pipe for French drains because there is not enough inlet on the pipe. Corrugated is far superior for yard drainage. It’s a shame that it has gotten such a bad reputation because of poor installation practices and bad quality material being used.

I see you never put sediment traps on your pvc projects are they necessary for pvc?
@StormWaterDrainageSolutions
@StormWaterDrainageSolutions 9 сағат бұрын
We have started using sediment traps more often now but for PVC or corrugated systems as long as you have an access point/ clean out in the beginning of the run and the system was built right it can be flushed out relatively easily.

It's a shame that you can't get the FDM pipe locally. The shipping expense on it, in my case as an example, would exceed the price of my entire project. I may simply go for PVC, but I am hoping to find a compromise since the corrugated material is ideal if it doesn't get crushed in the process without all the joints.

You could use this as a vacuum as well right just hook up your hose up with your vacuum to it like you would a skimmer, right?
@StormWaterDrainageSolutions
@StormWaterDrainageSolutions 8 сағат бұрын
That I am not sure of. It does come with the screen for the end of the hose to keep solids out so I’m assuming the manufacturer probably does not recommend it.

I want to thank you for this quick tutorial. After several years of trying to find a solution for my soggy lawn around the drainage line, this solution worked out perfect. I went 3ft deep and what was once a soggy and muddy mess is now no more. There are many vids on YT with recommended solutions many of those suggesting extending the drainage line further. My drainage line is located in an area where extending it would be unsightly. This was the perfect solution and it works!

I don’t think I’ve seen you add catch basins or sediment basins to your systems the way guys who use corrugated do. Is it necessary to have catch basins or just an add on for low spots?

Great video. I live in Tampa Bay too. I know how much rain we can get in a short amount of time. Question. How do you determine how many roof down spouts to connect to one drain? For example: I have a 70’ length roof that has four down one side -2 on each corner and two at each corner of the sunroom.

Hello, I'm grateful for educating me on the different pipes out there. I'm going to install a system for ground air transfer into my home. It's about 100' both ways, 6'-8' in the ground and what type of pipe would you recommend? It will be a loop system that will heat and cool my home. I live in Nevada about 25 miles east of Reno. It gets hot 🔥🔥🔥 in summer and cold in the winter. Frost level is 2' deep. Can you recommend a pipe for the application? Thanks, Ben
