This video is the quickest and easiest i have ever replaced this belt. The added steps of removing the airbox, tensioner, and loosening the fan shroud are the trick. These steps pay divedends in making it quick and easy. Watched the video twice through, second time wrote down the belt routing steps. With my steps and a belt diagram this thing went right in. Thank you for a great simple video. The explanation more than makes up for the impossible tight space to film.

Don't do that. That can cause serious problems. Your connection might be in a different place because you have a 4th gen truck. Worse case you can run it with a toggle switch if that's a route you're willing to take. Wiring it to your headlights can cause problems with your integrated power module.

This is a great video of the install, but do you have any pointers on removing the tie rod end from the knuckle? Im having a hell of a time getting the driver side out. It does not want to budge at all. There is no room to get a pickle fork in. And I've deformed the ear a little outside of where the tie rod stud goes in from beating on it so much.

Get a torch and give it some heat. Push up on it while you hit the knuckle with a hammer

Diesel, I'm in the process of taking everything off on my 3.9 magnum. I don't need to set timing with balancer? I'm good just to take it off and set timing with the sprockets?
@isolateddieselperformance3261Ай бұрын
You're correct. Your balancer slides on a keyway at your crankshaft so no way you can mess that up. As long as you got the dot on the cam sprocket at 6 o'clock and the dot on the crankshaft at 12 o'clock before you take it off and the same when you replace with new you are good to go.
@JtTaylor-mx3tmАй бұрын
@@isolateddieselperformance3261 awesome thank you. If I have any issues I'll send a comment here and get your help. Is it possible the keyways will move during the sprocket change or would it take alot of force to move the keyways? My concern is that everything is good and aligned taking the old sprockets off. But the dots are off by a few teeth when I put the new ones on
@isolateddieselperformance3261Ай бұрын
@JtTaylor-mx3tm you must have turned the crank or cam. Make sure piston #1 is at top dead center.
@isolateddieselperformance3261Ай бұрын
Also are you sure you have the right set for your truck. Compare old with new
@JtTaylor-mx3tmАй бұрын
Diesel, I got an update. I took the cover off finally, it looks like I got the right chain and sprockets but my chain does not have a tensioner on it. I'll put the chain on and see for sure if it all fits right. I'm hoping I did the right part. The one I got came with a tensioner. But there's a piece under the cam sprocket that looks like it could've been a tensioner that broke off possibly

Yea you can cut it out. The only reason why I didn't do that was to show the step for the ones that need to remove a good belt to change their water pump or any other part but more importantly it will help program your brain on how to put the new one in.

Check your fluid level. If it's ok and the fluid doesn't look or smell burnt than you have a failed part and it can be several things. May want to service it if it's not been done. That's the best advice i can give without looking at or driving it. Good luck brother.
