This video brings back memories of my service in Vietnam. I was a crew member of the PACV Division 107 while in country. I was assigned to PACV #2 and was present during this mission. The Unit participated on two missions into the Moc Hoa Plain of Reeds. Thank you for presenting this presentation of our serice.

Die Grenadiere sind irgendwie die am meisten unterschätzte Truppe , jedoch die wirklichen Allrounder . Grennis und Fallis zusammen , einfach ne unschlagbar super Truppe

ist jeder der in eine 5. kommt automatisch bei den mörserschützen?? die aufgabe einer mörsermannschaft ist immer gleich oder? richten/zielen, laden/schießen?

Unsere "ELITE" ist das KSK und nicht irgendwelche Soldaten, trotzdem zolle ich jedem eine Menge Respekt! Die Politik meint wir müssten uns überall einmischen, leider sterben dafür viel zu viele..

Nicht nur im Ausland, es gibt auch Elitekämpfer im Inland. Z.b. das SEK. Die gehen auch jeden Tag an ihre Grenzen. Wenn sie eingesetzt werden, wirds aber für den "Feind" ganz schön hässlich.

Es wird ja auch von bestmöglicher Sicherheit gesprochen ;)

Wieso sollte auch ein Panzerfaher Richtschütze Pilot Matrose usw. lernen wie mann mit einer IdZ (infanterie der Zukunft) umgeht ? In der AGA sind alle Truppenteile gleich egal ob du später Infanterist wirst oder Pilot deshalb !

Nochmal informieren. 5,56 ist kein "Ami Kaliber", außerdem kommts auf den Mix an. Anbei ein (nicht ganz frischer) Artikel zu dem Thema. Elitekämpfer. Nu iss ja klar. Seit wann versteht die Springerpresse auch nur irgendwas vom Militär.

Gestorben wird in jedem Krieg. Wie im zivilen, gibt es erst recht im militärischen Bereich, keine 100% Sicherheit. Ansonsten eine gute Reportage, hat aber etwas von einem typischen Lehrfilm und die Bildqualität darf auch besser sein.

Stimme ich dir zu, die hätten das Kalieber vom G3 beibehalten sollen (7,62 wie das MG3), und nicht auf das Amikalbieber wechseln sollen.

Great production! This mission in Afghanistan is self defeating, those people are beyond being helped by us, the cost is way to high and they are not loyal to anything but money and power. This war needs to end yesterday before more people die and more money is wasted.

Da müssen die Versuche machen? Etwas was jeder Lanzer früher in der ersten Schießstunde gelernt hat. "Treffer und Wirkung im Ziel". Und dann wird diese Muni und Waffen (G36 und MG4) auch noch schön geredet. "Doppelschuß und Doppelkern sind die Lösung". Die sollen lieber wieder mehr auf physisches und psychisches Training bzw. Fitness setzen damit die verweichlichten Jungs wieder ordentliche Waffen und Munition (7,62 x 51) durch die Landschaft tragen können. Gruß Eisberglanzer

@whiddon1 Couple things wrong with that comment...The Russians did it totally different, and the Vietnam War was a completely different set of goals. Neither can be used as an argument about the current war...at all.

@707kang In Part 4 it shows that firefight, and then it shows them go into the village, it shows nothing of villagers that were killed. After that, it states that Bravo still hadn't killed any civilians. Then it says that Charlie Company was sent as backup, and they shot a rocket and killed the Afghan civilians.

@crazboy808 They were paying that man because his wife and 3 children were killed in an accident. You don't think they should have? Well, then Im not sure what to say to you.

@akita70 This is a good Documentary. There's another GREAT one called "restrepo" not sure if you've heard of it.

use technology to save lives, i think all their battles should have some degree of overwatch whether it be UAV's or a u2 or c130.the most inexpensive way.

As a ex Army grunt/Infrantry. You guys all the emotion you show I have been there and done that. Only through part 2 right now and this is the best documentry that shows real combat

@Marine5484 yeah youre right. The marines did their job... and they did it well... but thats not the point. The question is: why are the marines in a-stan? why are they in marjah? This are the questions one should answer. If the afghan people want to live with the taliban, then just let them do it... Its their way of life. It just what they want...Of course its not perfect...but at least its better than being killed by an american rocket... "our" way of life is not always the best

too bad the majority of the taliban took off b4 the operation began. Most Coalition casualties were from IED's. Once a coward always a coward i guess.
