@@buiscape ok cool. I'm trying to make work what I have on hand. It's a front opening 40G with about 6 inches of water space. I have black fluorite sand and small mm black lava rock, going to see how that works. I also have some cool cork tubes I've positioned vertically in a way that crabs should still be unable to get out. The cork sticks up out of the tank. So like cork skyscrapers. Hopefully going to source some nice dark slate pieces to incorporate. I'll have a pump in this one, but just for running water up and trickling over each tallest cork tube. I also have a plan to create a device to keep the crabs off the wire, which I thinkll work. Wish me luck, I enjoy your vids, keep going. Any other advice with any bacteria to establish the tank early on? Add snails and cleaner crew before surface plants?

hello, you inspired me to build my first paludarium using vampire crabs and i love your hardscape, do you happen to have like a sketch or a picture of the hardscape before adding the HC cuba? or can you tell me what the bottom of the hardscape is made of, is it just stone stuck together or did you stick stones to a false bottom? i have an idea to do something similar using star moss.
@buiscape2 ай бұрын
Hi! Thank you for watching my video. On my Patreon I actually just recently uploaded the blue print for this build. A visual guide to see the hardscape before and after. I balanced the stone for this design, no glue was used. Here is the link for my post: www.patreon.com/posts/crab-tank-blue-104940428?Link&

What's the maintenance like? Do you dose with any plant nutrients?
@buiscape2 ай бұрын
A drop or two of excel, maintenance is very low. Takes less than 5 mins to change 20-30% of the water. Not much algae to scrape off the glass but when there is, it occurs every 3-4 weeks.

Wonderful build. I don't understand why you're calling it pond style though.
@buiscape2 ай бұрын
Pond style is derived from a true natural setting in a pond habitat where the body of water is still. This aquascape takes inspiration from that idea, creating an ecosystem that is overall self sustaining without CO2 or filtration.
