So~ from the comments, I'm seeing a lot of people basically implying that she would not have the right to defend herself when being wrongfully attacked? News flash, attack at your own risk. This cat was lucky that the guardian did not retaliate, but that does not mean she did not have the RIGHT to. If the roles were reversed, would you say the same to a human that beats up a cat without knowing if it was at fault or not?

My cat protected me from my mother like this once, but she was really hurting me. My cat was mysteriously poisoned shortly after that incident. He was a good boy. I loved him and he loved me back. I wish I could have protected him, the way that he protected me.
