Hello! I'm trying to make a survey form with a similar "tally" function as at 15:00. Could you link to any documentation for how to fill out the XLSForm for that section? Thank you!

Answered my own question: It is an option under "appearances" options. doc.arcgis.com/en/survey123/desktop/create-surveys/xlsformsappearance.htm

Second question - do you know the favoured food of the native bee that frequents avocados.
@mikkelchristensen50462 жыл бұрын
At this point in time, no, as we have only just started the eDNA work which will allow us to definitively identify which native bees (and hoverflies) are visiting the avocado flowers. it is hoped that the Federal government will fund a continuation of these projects so we can start work on this, as well as identifying more plants that will attract and increase pollinator numbers in the orchards.

Great work, Are the Avocados producing a lot of pollen and or nectar and is there a time of day that more of either of these resources produced.

Silt and loam are not the same thing. Loam is clay and sea sand regurgitated from volcanic activity. (Or so I am told). As for loam and sily being not the same thing, this is 35 years of professional soil testing speaking.
@peterclifton71462 жыл бұрын
Hi Frank, Yes you are correct. Soil texture depends on the proportion of sand, silt and clay, which are different sized mineral components of soil <2mm. In this video we talk more about the overall texture soil as being a sandy soil where sand dominates, a clayey soil where the clay fraction dominates and a loamy soil where there is a more even proportion of the particle sizes. So we are referring to the dominant particle size in that soil. The main reason we don't talk about silty soils is because they are very rare in this part of the world.
@franklee38002 жыл бұрын
@@peterclifton7146 Hi Peter, thanks for your response. In Australia silt is so common that it is banned from being used as a structural material which it lacks other particle sizes such as sands/,loams, gravels or clays. Such areas are typically found under old forest growth and changes from pacted natural ground into "bulldust" as it is referred, when construction traffic breaks it up.

Very interesting, did you inoculate the biochar with anything? And was there any wait times from kiln to feeding the cattle? Thank you
@peterclifton71462 жыл бұрын
No inoculation. This is not our project, just a case study of a farmer's practice. He just used biochar mixed with molasses, but now using glycerine I believe. The biochar was purchased, not made by us or the farmer, so I don't know wait time.

All this excess tillage turns soil into dirt. One day, tillage will become illegal in Australia. Our topsoil is too fragile...
@EnsignBaiXin2 жыл бұрын
Not just Australia, tillage has led to the downfall of many civilizations. It is a poor tool for solving complex problems such as weed and nutrient management. Read the book "Dirt, The Erosion of Civilizations" by David Montgomery.

Hello sir, Thank you very much for sharing your knowledge to us. I'm located in Tanzania, Iringa Region; the area is ideal for growing avocados (mais is currently the main crop). Our plan is planting 5000 avo seedling trees in the near future. 90% of the Tanzanian people still use charcoal for cooking and heating. It's made by a process of collecting big and small logs and woods, supporting the pile with braces and then covering it with a good layer of dirt/soil. Then the burning process starts, which can easily take over a week depending on the size of the pile. My question; do you have more information about adding biochar to the soil for growing avo's, what are the results after 6 years of growing them. Are there any other aspects we have to take in consideration and beware of? Will it increase the PH? Thanks in advance

What is the feedstock for the biochar?
@southwestnrm3 жыл бұрын
The feedstock is jarrah wood purchased from Simcoa who produce it (at 600 degrees C) as a by-product of there silicon manufacturing process. More details here www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/abs/pii/S1002016015300473
@southwestnrm3 жыл бұрын
The biochar is not used in silicon manufacturing. Rather it is reject charcoal
@mlindsay5273 жыл бұрын
Thanks! Has it been washed? If not, that would explain at least a portion of the increased P and K.Possibly pH increases as well.

And very few actually regard the value of the dung beetle. At all. For that matter. My goodness. Something else. Very well done. Brilliant!
