Worth mentioning that the scenes at the end are from the Sabra and Shatila massacre, which stem from the director's character in the movie searching for lost memories of his experience as a soldier during the 1982 Lebanon War.

Dude Waltz with Bashir is awesome, I remember when it very first came out in 2008 and watched it and loved it.

Another great example of a sub-90 minute film that feels epic is Tim Blake Nelson’s directorial debut Eye of God. It’s not animated but it is extremely dark and depressing and so well done. Only been able to find it uploaded to KZfaq but I think it’s still very worth watching. Here’s a link to the upload I watched kzfaq.info/get/bejne/frKee86FxN_LZmw.htmlsi=g3X5bsmaEJTkxnq7 One of my new favorites of all time tbh

Don't ever apologize for your accent. I have seen the long version of the Dune film and I loved it. David is a visionary shaman who really does a great job of being off kilter

This movie covers love, hate, fear, anger, isolation, loneliness, desperation, anguish, and what it is to live. It covers everything if only you would look for it. It's not meant to entertain but it's meant to teach. You are not mature enough to handle it.
@dawnstone6106 күн бұрын
Its considered third of the best 100 movies of all time. I agree.
@dawnstone6106 күн бұрын
This is typical Russian philosophy. Could you read the book? It doesn't drag. Everything can be analysed. It's not to entertain you. The driving takes the place of the travelling to the space station. You have to focus on what you see. It's not vague. It's a fantasy. You have to understand.

0:58, It's interesting that whatever this entity is that resembles the protagonist isn't portrayed here as some emotionless machine or raging beast, but something more sadistic, something intentionally trying to be menacing. Wether it's a clone, an alien, a demon, a ghost, a hallucination or something in between, whatever it is appears to be there to cause harm. But at the same time, the constant whimpering and screeching also suggests either the protagonist or something else is being overwhelmed with pain.

Dragged against concrete is not a horror but the mean spirited atmosphere of this noir film is similar to when evil lurks

Day One was awful. It had no plot and literally nothing happened in the whole movie. We were expected to care about two loners with no other family, nowhere to go, nobody to protect. There was zero motivation for either of them. Of all the endless possibilities they had, they decided to do nothing.
@mrweaseljam12 күн бұрын
I loved your enthusiasm about the franchise. Your ideas as well would be extremely intriguing and offer so much possibility. After watching a Quiet Place: Day one, my family and I had various discussions about this franchise could go. Could there also be predators to the Death Angels, or attempting to hide spoilers, just in case. Something is discovered in the new film that isn't seen in the old ones about the creature's either reproduction, nourishment, or food and what effects it might have on a human. What if some have eyes as well but can only sense motion? I don't know, but a planet that was blown to shreds and landed on earth might have other ecosystems?

I've seen 4 Months, Beyond the Hills, Graduation, and R.M.N. Mungiu is easily a modern master and one of the great contemporary filmmakers working today

I love the South Korean series, and don't think it needs a remake, but Fincher would make something exceptional, as he always does.

Thanks for this video. I haven't seen any of Cristian Mungiu's films, but "4 Months..." is on the Harvard PhD Narrative Film List, and I'm trying to watch all of those. I will get to it eventually.

Big fan of Mungiu. Loved Graduation and Beyond the Hills. I saw 4 Months in college but really did not enjoy it. It just made me so angry but then again maybe that was the point. I think I may have to revisit it.

I can definitely understand why the subject matter could throw some people off. I have heard mixed opinions about the film, but for me, I enjoyed it!
@mickey435517 күн бұрын
@@DylanAnglin_ it wasn’t the subject matter it was more the pacing and the characters being irritating. Again, I think it was supposed to get under your skin. I should rewatch it.

I watched it and liked it. The movie was just what I expected it's not a run and gun SOA copycat movie. The movie is really about the lives of 3 people and how the club life effected their lives and of course the one interloper of the film.
