I recently picked up the metal version of this mini for my 5 member team that I'm putting together for Majestic 13. The other four members of the team come from Wargames Atlantic Ooh Rah box set and yes, the miniature is slightly smaller, but the great thing about human beings is we all come in different shapes and sizes so the miniature will fit in nicely. I'm thinking of using Agent Scully as inspiration for my paint job but we'll see. A really good review.

@@welshminiatureboardgamer356 Yeah, it's a modern setting but with a Alien monsters trying to take over the Earth and your little band of hapless heroes are out there trying to stop them. Great models and nice paintjob. As an arachnafoob muself, I think it's a great idea to use these as stand-in for the 8 legged freaks. And great that you think of someone elses discomfort, not a lot of people do. The bases are great, but I think I'll use slightly bigger ones, 50 or 60mm, flatten the pointy end and glue them on, possibly as mounts for the WA goblins. Think they'll fit ?
@welshminiatureboardgamer356Ай бұрын
Thanks yeah I try and keep the table non threatening lol! Would hate to trigger someone's phobia over a game that is supposed to be fun. Yeah larger bases would suit them better, but you work with what you got. The goblin riders may have to be remodeled abit to fit over the larger backs of the harvesters. They would look really cool though if you do widen the legs and alittle green stuff. Anyway thanks for the comment and good luck with the project.

@@welshminiatureboardgamer356 I used denatured 95° alcohol (I don't really know how to translate "Alcool ménager à 95°" I guess alcohol fuel would be the closest one) ,which was like mostly ethanol, when I removed the paint of some plastic minis I used as training dummies. How rigid/bendy is the plastic on those? I don't mind plastic, but I don't like the rubbery/bendy stuff.
@welshminiatureboardgamer356Ай бұрын
Thanks for the question. It depends on what you have for reference. They are not as bendy as old reaper or toy soldiers, which we will give a score of one out of ten. Hard plastic like frostgrave minis are like 9/10. These are like 4/10, weapons are alittle bendy but actual figures are not.

Having worked in plastic molding for many years you are correct that is the mold shifting. But a lot of people don't understand that companies tend to produce thousands of parts at a time and this usually starts later in production or from the mold not being cleaned properly when finished.
