Thank you for this video. There seems to be very little content (mostly comments) on how to test a battery drain with a multi meter. I replaced an MEC jack on a Warwick with a black Switchcraft and now have battery drain. There are terminology differences between manufactures when connecting the jack. This video helps to determine what each post is on the jack.

The LHZ-03 is arriving today. My Spector NS Pulse is good, but I want it to be great. Thank you for making and selling these to all of us who love that 80's and 90's hard rock tone.

!Highly recommended item! I recently installed the preamp in my Spector with EMG P/J and now it exactly sounds like a NS-A2. The HAZ/ LHZ preamp is something special. I don't need a distorton pedal anymore to cut through the mix. Just boost treble or bass on the bass.

On a bass with active EMGs but no preamp - just a single tone knob - does the tone need to be rolled all the way down as the starting point before the pedal? Or all the way up?

My Euro LX4 should be here any minute via UPS. I definitely want to get the LHZ 03 preamp in it. I hope the guy at Guitar Center knows what he's doing because that's where I have to bring it to.

This is great. Now the newer Fodera guys can enjoy that sounds of the 80s Foderas that came with Haz preamps. Warwick owners can get closer to that ideal copy of a Spector theyd been trying forever to mimic. We can go for that early Stenberger sound. People that liked the Kramers with a Khaz will go apeshit for this. The versatility of a pedal really opens up a lot of that 80s Haz footprint to explore.

I worked at a movie theatre as a teen and this is indeed the stuff we used. You actually add the seasoning into the kettle at the same time you add the seeds and oil and let it all cook together to infuse the flavour into the popcorn. I just added a carton of the stuff into my Amazon cart now. Thanks

Was the blend control switched out at all when the preamp was changed? I just bought a Spector Pulse ii and ordered one of your pres to swap with the stock Tonepump jr.

Is this preset available for HX STOMP ????????????????

If you look at the German Warwick $$ schematic, the volume pot has a direct to jack preamp defeat. Nordstrand showed off a few basses that had a tone pot in their passive path when you bypassed their preamp. I need to incorporate some of these ideas in my next build. Warwick jacks also have a connector soldered to them that I found convenient when swapping preamps into an existing harness.

cant seem to find it on net how do you store it in moist climates? and if it dose get moist and you dry it dose it loose the special flake properties even after smashing it back up?

Sensational! As a librarian, I resent something becoming unusable after I paid $$$ for it. And you can search for articles on an online database (e.g. EBSCOHost) much more effectively than the old index that came with this set.

Why are, in your opinion, the Hazlab preamps so loud? Is it, by any chance, associated with the very poor voltage noise (32 nV/sqrt Hz) performance of these chips, that requires the gain to be increased at the input to mask the possible voltage noise levels at unity gain? It is the only place where I think all of these perform poorly; apart from that, at least the MC33172, has great benefits, mainly very low current consumption, readily available at very good price, and good driving capability.

Pardon my ignorance, but can anybody answer whether or not these IR can be used with other IR loaders or hardware other than line 6?

BAC is my preference. B just had an overall grit and harmonic distortion was most pleasing by my ears. A was close, with less pleasing range of distorted harmonics. But pretty close. C was just too clean and seemed to have fewer harmonics for my taste. The C operational amplifier chip sounded like any other pre amp on the market. Reminded me of the EMG BQ, whatever, that is in one of my Spectors now. Which I planned on replacing with your preamp. Now I'll wait for your next video to see which chip you will be using going forward before I make a purchase. I sure wish you had more of the discontinued chips.

They all sound really good. My first instinct is that A sounds most like my LHZ. B is more ballsy with less top end. Disparity most noticeable in the first part. They all sound more similar when played harder. Nice job. Was the original recording done bypassing the Spector’s pre?

B is by far my preference - don't know if it's the LF442CN but it has more "body" to it than A and C, which are both clear and clean but not as full.

Edit - I ramped up my volume and there are elements of B that sound fuller than A and i feel C sounds more punchier and more dynamic than A or B.. they are so damn close, no one would ever know. Gonna go with C now .. it may change again , who knows :)
