In Norman Smith's book he said he played bongos on a Beatles track - he was their recording engineer up till and including Rubber Soul - so my guess was either this track or AND I LOVE HER - he said Ringo had a hard time with the bongos on a Beatles track so Norman who was also a drummer played on it

Another Ringo drum part I've always loved is from "Cry Baby Cry." There's a passage where he practically invents the trip-hop beat, the verse that begins "The king was in the parlor..."

Was the pack of Reds on the snare in Emerick's notes too? 😅

The drums in John's second part are some of Ringo's best work. Those fills...

Awesome Instrumental cover, also, I have a question, why did John Played the snare drum and why did Ringo taped the back of an acoustic guitar in this song?

I'm a bit late to this, but I love this video for it fixes pretty much the only real 2 gripes I had with the original- That being, is the fact that George's guitar is not loud enough! Doing his beautiful guitar part justice. The other being that the background vocals are *way* too loud during the solo, and it drowns out the slide guitar. Great work!

These videos are awesome because you learn about their playing. Like your friends on the podcast, another great version of the song sir! 🫡 What I noticed: it’s kinda a ska Caribbean song! Up stroke skank. I know they liked reggae and all that. So interesting to see something you’ve heard all your life.
