it was because i was holding it, it was curling in on itself. If you don't believe that it works why not try it for yourself?

You could totally do that for safety. I wanted to keep a consistent temp while trying this to remove a variable.

You're so welcome! The twisted knit stitch has become the only knit stitch that I use in brims and cuffs. You can purl through the back as well :)

Oh thank goodness, a video to relax the cable.....ah... bottoms 🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️to catch them all again...or persevere til ive increased enough for it not to matter 🤦🏻♀️😂 oh the joys!! Fab advice though, thank you!!! This will be VERY useful ❤️

Wow i have this same machine and i cant find any info on it. I used it for years and loved it so much and tried to clean it once and now i have it in pieces ): i live in Los Angeles and have many repair shops around me and quoted me over $150😂 just bought a singer heavy duty instead and works just as well but definitely using the nelco was just something so satisfying while working on it.

ohh no I'm so sorry to hear that! I wasn't able to find anything really on this one. We still have it, it's just sadly sitting in my basement until I can find the time and energy to tackle this one again....well, that and get better at sewing.

Hi from Texas! This is the first time I watch your podcast, and I loved the caos, your baby making cute sounds, and your dog asking for attention. I just want to share that I crochet, knit with needles, with a knitting machine,and with knitting looms, and I enjoy creating things using any of those tools, and sometimes I create things using two of those tools in the same project. I love the possibilities those different tools offer to my creativity

Ahhh thank you so much for connecting and sharing! It's so nice to hear your perspective and your thoughts. When it comes to knitting needles are you more of a straights or circulars?

Can u do this for wood needles?
@KnittinginthePark Жыл бұрын
You should be able to do this with any needle really. You are primarily exposing the cable connecting the needles to the steam or the water. I wouldn't recommend submerging the wooden part just in case they absorb water or lose their coating.

Hi. I just found your video and I see it's older, but hopefully you might see this. I am just now doing my cactus kit and I have a question that you could possibly help me with. For the flowerpot Round 8 states: Sc in next 3 sts, 2 sc in next st; rep *6 times [30 sts] No problem here. Rounds 9-13 states: Sc in each st around. [24 sts] Where are they decreasing? I'm wondering if it's a typo or maybe I should do an invisible decrease? I'd love to have your input. Thanks!
@KnittinginthePark Жыл бұрын
I might be able to try to help. I don't have my kit any more so I don't have something to reference but comment your question and we can try to work together. If I don't have an answer I might be able to help get you in touch with someone that does!!
@KnittinginthePark Жыл бұрын
Just emailed them. I'm not quite sure and it's been a while since working with this.
@KnittinginthePark Жыл бұрын
Got a response! it looks like the stitch count for Rounds 9 - 13 is incorrect and should read as 30 stitches, not 24. There is no need to decrease for Rounds 9 - 13.

…I’ve never had trouble with my mom’s decades old bamboo needles. The oils of hands made them slick and gave a nice patina. I do prefer my aluminum ones because they are a larger size, and I like the click sound. But my mom’s old bamboo needles work great. I’ve never had splinters. Use made then smooth and hard and rounded pleasantly.

As a beginner I made my first shawl in Aran weight unfortunately I ran out of yarn and it has now been discontinued but I can now see it working in different ways. The point sits just below my shoulder blades so I can use it as a scarf or a kerchief so glad it won’t be wasted.

How do you knit this flat please
@KnittinginthePark2 жыл бұрын
So sorry Matthew I'm just seeing this now. I'm not the best with seaming my pieces so I tend to knit in the round. I would hazard to guess though that you could apply the same technique to knitting the hat flat: Every other row you would do the opposite though. So if I'm using twisted knits on my odd rows, you'd use twisted purls on the even rows.

Have you tried this technique with it? You might need to hold it over the heat for a bit longer. I might have one of these types of needles that I can test it out with.
