The sound disappeared the entire time you were painting the 1st mug with obsidian. I was sorry to miss it. Then the sound returned until you began to explain how you applied smoky merlot bands. No more narration came through for the rest of the explanation. The second and third mug had music. Your narrative about how you used the bath mat to clean off the mug bottoms was fine. I was sorry to miss your full process described. It was easy to follow what you were doing by watching the video. Thanks for sharing.

I'm sorry about the sound, I unfortunately got a copyright claim on the background music years after posting this video. I did make a new instruction video about the same glaze combination :)

@@caldervanandel Thanks for your prompt reply. I was able to follow your instruction just by watching the video. I didn’t know if you were aware of the loss of the sound so I just wanted to let you know.

Well, I’m going to buck the trend of uniformly positive comments: This seems to me like a lot of material and effort for a single little cup. It wouldn’t even work if you had a handle.

Can’t you just roll out clay to the thickness you want and use a cookie cutter or something similar to cut out your round shapes? Easier and it should work? Thanks.

As a former pour painter you may want to try a base first on the surface. The colors moving is what makes those effects. We always did a base on the canvas so it wouldn't stick as bad. And roll over each other.

I’ve been doing pottery for 40+ years on and off. Now retired at 65, I have my own studio. I’m enjoying your videos, love your English with your Netherlandish accent and have learned a couple new tricks and techniques from you. Notably, the use of the micro-fiber dish mat to clean pot bottoms. Thank you from Northern California/Nevada. Keep up the excellent KZfaq videos. They are much appreciated!

looks great pre-fired. Fired is underwhelming. Can you bubble underglaze and clear glaze that?

I buy one and for some reason always ends up with a higer wall and im not sure if its something off with the wheel or with me (im totally a nooby)

That happens when the clay isn't fully centred at the beginning. But that will take time to learn, however if the wheel is shaking it's even harder to get it perfectly centered

I could hear the bumping as you started centring. Thank you for review it. i guess ppl get what they pay for. If you want a steady good quality then we'd have to pay a little more.
