Well, Trey is almost certainly going to have to play in the regular season because he's the only 3rd point G on the roster! (Pickett will be released or spend the season in the G-League). If Jamal or Westrbook misses any games (which is certain), then Trey will be the #2 PG by default. The only other option would be to play Christian Braun at the PG and he's not a PG, and Julian Strawther or Peyton Watson at the 2 neither of which would be good. You don't want Strawther having to start at 2 since he's essentially a rookie. And Watson isn't a 2.

Do you think Denver will move off of Jalen Pickett and Zeke Nnaji, whether in the offseason or by the trade deadline? I really think they need to. Would be nice to get Gordon Hayward or Cedi Osman for the bench. I remember vaguely MPJ said something about being in a lot of pain late in the playoffs, in 2023 and last year. I wonder if that’s why his play drops off like it did in the Miami Series and the Wolves series. Sorry but Jamal is not good at playmaking. He generates assists when Jokic is on the court because Jokic sets him up then he passes to open knock down shooters. But when Jamal runs the bench unit, he is awful … both as a play maker and as a scorer. Jamal is a function of Jokic, without Jokic he is a below average player.
