What is the reason one might choose to take the approach from the patient's back instead of the stomach? I found a video that showed a similar procedure, but the screws were miniscule compared to those with this approach. So interesting!

I have two Mobi C in my cervical spine. I can tell you it is 100% a failed surgery. As a majority do not make the pain any better, actually opposite it’s horrible.I have pain that I never imagined possible to live through. I was promised it would work, yet here I am jobless because of this surgery , and now I have no hope knowing no one will be willing to fix me.

Thank you for this vid. Currently recovering from a second spinal fusion, first one failed. I had a different surgeon for the second one because I did not have confidence in Mayo after my experience there for the first one - he used BMP and also bone marrow aspiration. Gave me a full laminectomy and facetectomy as well. Praying it all works. Super painful stuff.

I hurt everywhere and it’s getting worse, and I feel like I have the flu constantly. I was ill during childhood, but no one paid attention. I believe it was Lyme and the beginnings of AS. I had Scarlet Fever and then 20 years of constant strep, leg pain, stuff necks, but had a teaching career and raised two children. Now, after getting and removing breast implants, living in unseen mold in a condo, developed several severe autoimmune diseases, had 4 operations because of organ failures, moved to a home, contracted Lyme, and now it all came back. I’ve been in treatment for several Lyme infection and viruses that resurfaced, for 19 months, but for the past two months, I’m getting worse. I have a burning spine, lower back pain so I can’t stand for more than 10 minutes, have leg aches all day, bladder retention, eye problems (allergies and Sjogren’s), bone pain, muscle pain, low grade fevers, no appetite, and I feel sick. I think something else is wrong, and I need to be in a hospital, but I don’t know what it is. I’m depressed and want to leave the planet. I’m pretty useless and live alone.

I had this done last month. A four level ACDF resulted in a large 400 ml hematoma at the incision area on my neck which blocked the Jackson Pratt drain. Because the medical staff ignored the drain for four days, the hematoma burst and blood backflowed into my body and down the thoracic cavity into my lungs resulting in a hemothorax on both the front and back of my right lung which caused a pneumothorax collapse of my right lung. I spent 14 days in the ICU and almost died. While there are risks to the ACDF surgery, hospitals must monitor and address these risks. If you are going to have this surgery, ask your doctor how they monitor and address the most common risks to include hematoma, dysphagia and respiratory issues which are the most common complications. Make sure your drain works and you have people visiting you to know what to look for and not be shy about advocating for you when medical staff push back on concerns.

Once you move the herniated parts of the disk what happens with the remaining disk? Sew-it together or left it open? Thank you.

If i go in for an MRI lambar spine without contrast.. will the show inmages of my brian or scan my brain or take any picture of my brain, or have anything to do with my brain? Or since its for lambar spine, will they only focuse on that and other parts of my body? I have high anxiety cause i dont want my brain involved.. thanks so much. I hope to hear back from you soon?
