EDIT: She just announced she's leaving Idol and going indie in November, only 8 hours after I originally made this post. Let it forever be known I was right. Being bought by a private equity group that only exists to absorb brands is just the precursor to a slow death. I know Rin has a lot of sunk cost and even guilt over how things have gone but if she was truly being smart she would get out while the gettin's good.

Idol was acquired by Brave Group, and the old CEO, Aviel, is stepping down. The talents were offered to stay with the Brave acquisition, or go indie with their IP (idk whether or not the talents will need to buy out the IP). This move has been generally well received

Everyone is still here *for now.* They can’t read but I understand why they’d have the misconception. Usually when something gets bought out it continues to operate for like a year tops before radical changes/unobtainable objectives lead to closure or liquidation. Hopefully not but there’s definitely always a chance with larger corporations buying into entertainment industries.
