Thank you for watching the video. Ambient0 does not have a USB port, so you cannot record directly. I'm using an Android system, so I can't check on the iPad, but for this video, I input the signal from the Ambient0's Line out to SmplTrek, connected the SmplTrek's USB out to an Android (smartphone), and recorded and recorded using a camera app that supports USB recording.

Thank you for watching the video. I'm still practicing Ambient0 and ambient music, but I like how I can create great sounds with simple operations. As for SmplTrek, in the video I only use it to send sound to the camera app on my recording device (smartphone), but I find it very useful because it can use sample and MIDI tracks on its own and can also be used to create sequences. On the other hand, the screen is very small, so it's difficult to do detailed work.👓 I'd be happy if it could become like a compact version of the ELEKTRON OCTATRACK in future updates.

Do you like the ambient 0 is the workflow ok ?
@SoundOptimize
@SoundOptimize 29 күн бұрын
I'm still learning, but I like it so far. The workflow is almost the same as other LIVENs, so there's no problem (you can get used to it or not). Since it's mainly ambient music, the length of one step can be set to a maximum of 8 bars. One pattern can use up to 64 steps, so it's possible to play long tones of up to 512 bars. I also thought that the shift lock was added so that the second function of the knob can be accessed with both hands. On the other hand, since the information you can get from the display is limited, you need to remember to some extent what the LED lamps on the main unit mean and what is happening now in order to understand the current situation.

@filipesantos-sayednaCertainly, LIVEN uses the ecosystem (hardware of the same design), so it is packed with functions and operation is inevitably complicated. I don't like synthesizers with hierarchical layers, but I think I have no choice but to get used to it. If necessary, I control it with a DAW. I think the easiest hardware to use is ELKTRON (I'm an Octatrack user), but it costs several times more than LIVEN, so I feel it's unfair to compare it with this one.

I like the idea of this a lot, but I wonder how you would compare it with the Liven Mega Synthesis. The main issue I’m hesitating on is step length per part. I like synthesized drums over the MegaSynthesis’ PCM drums though.
@SoundOptimize
@SoundOptimize Ай бұрын
LIVEN MEGA SYNTHESIS uses the YM2612 (emulated), while Blast Beats uses the actual FM chip, the YMF262. This chip was used for Sound Blaster, which was often installed in PCs in the 90s, but it was difficult to use it musically at the time. On the other hand, this chip has a wide variety of operating modes, and Blast Beats operates it in a mode that makes it easy to make beats. There are eight types of waveforms, including Sine (YM2612 only Sine), so the range of sounds that can be created is wide. However, there are only five algorithms, which are applied to the synth part. In addition, some sound parameters are shared in the rhythm part, and there are parameters that interact with each other, for example, SD and HiHat. The step length is a maximum of 64 steps (16 x 4 pages), and each step is fixed at a 16th note. MEGA SYNTHESIS has a maximum of 128 steps, and you can choose note lengths from 1/32 to 1/1. This means that when set to 1/1, you can create a maximum of 128 bars in one pattern. Both pieces of hardware allow you to set different step lengths for each part, making polyrhythmic performance possible. However, both pieces of hardware have their own quirks, and I think people will either love them or hate them.

@SoundOptimize

Thanks for watching! On the right is a hardware sampler called SmplTrek, which, like the MEGA SYNTHESIS, is a SONICWARE product. The sound output from the MEGA SYNTHESIS is input into SmplTrek, where reverb processing is performed. The USB audio out of SmplTrek is also connected to the smartphone used to film this video, and the video and audio are merged.

@@to90zeroblue1 When I'm creating patterns for these covers, I just listen to the sound. I listen to them at normal speed, or 75% speed, or 50% speed, and input each and every note that is used. It might be a good idea to start by challenging yourself with a game that has a lot of short, easy phrases.
