Getting real tired of the whole screeching sound trope. At this point I'm just annoyed at them. I'd rather have a series that's just unsettling on its own and leaves me with some malaise when I stop watching instead of having to sigh and reach for the volume knob every time there's a bit of silence. The main issue I have with that is that it really takes me out of the experience. It doesn't feel like I'm watching something I'm not supposed to but instead reminds me I'm watching something that was meant to scare people.

Am I that much of a cynical asshat that the absolutely horrible things described in this video sadly don’t shock me unlike other more innocent people?
