came here after watching the endings of mgs3 and mgs4 back to back. Its amazing how connected the two are, as well as how connected the ending of 3 is to this song. Lyrically its literally the boss singing about snake and herself. Kojima a mastermind for basically giving a spoiler to the entire game in cryptic form with this song lol

I mean the game is pretty beloved, I certainly enjoyed it. The opening nice tone setter (even if it only shows up after the tutorial), puts you in the mood for an old spy movie. Adds something to the prequel 60s mood/setting I think.

Does anyone have insight as to why the music starts playing right away at "Konami presents" in the HD Collection? It used to start with the newspaper articles in the original. It's always bothered me that the video is not at the same time as the music like in the original PS2 version. I've always wondered if it was deliberate and maybe it's not that significant to others but for me it was a shame that some of the specific musical moments and swells didn't line up like they do in the original. Of course this could just be a classic case of me being biased with nostalgia, but that visual of Snake rising up behind the guard not lining up with the music the way it used to really killed my boner haha It's at 1:15 and, honestly, it actually still works with the music but it used to be in time with the "BWAAAAA BWA BWAA BWA BWA" But because it still kind of works in a different way I wonder if they looked back and deliberately adjusted it or if they just carelessly messed it up. If they did just carelessly do it then it's a real shame because I'm sure someone or some people spent countless hours putting these shots together to match with the music effectively only to be an afterthought EDIT: Okay the end title card also works awesomely in this HD version but in a different way. I need to watch this closely again in its entirety in a non biased way and see if it actually all works with the music well or even better
