It was a wonderful movie. Intelligent. Thought provoking. Great look to it that stood out. One of my favourites. When I saw it I thought it was ahead of its time.

Teaches you how to rise above people's expectations to follow your own dreams. No matter what your DNA 🧬, or any label the world tries to lay on you. Hope & fear, can push & pull but if you trust your gut intuition 90% of the time it will put you on the right path. 🪶💕❤️💕🌿🕊️🫶

Kubrick était unique et le meilleur cinéaste de tous les temps, pour moi le génie du cinéma au même titre que Mozart en musique classique... Pollack a dit le mot, ses films sont hypnotiques))

My 2nd favorite line in the movie is when Jerome tells Vincent that he's afraid of heights. Imagine that, a perfectly genetically designed specimen being afraid of height. No matter how advanced technology gets, they'll never be able to predict unique human characteristics. Only God can imagine those things, not some overpaid computer needs who lack morals and values. Why do we always les the bad ones run things I wonder?

When he says it was a nightmare...I recall the line 'This is This'. Quite enigmatic. The Deer Hunter is spectacular and magnificent. Must see American cinema.

Edit- sorry I meant to put this comment on a video and a short that was taking credit for this wonderful interview that you’ve thankfully put up for all of us. The entire hour plus long interview from 2009 and the person who actually uploaded it and did the work so we could have this to enjoy for years on end for all of us who grew up watching gene wilder kzfaq.info/get/bejne/qryqqrmTl93Vm2Q.htmlsi=IBFnyAcOgjLCNrZW

Great director was Sidney Lumet. His body of work is sheer quality no matter the story or the subject.

I was 12 when it came out and it has remained one of my favorite films I’ve ever seen. That’s pretty incredible for a film to resonate so much with a 12 year old and for that same kid to remember how amazing it was 27 years later!!! I think I’ve watched it 7 or 8 times over the years. And I remember at 12 telling my friends about it and they thought I was weird 😂

I always thought the purpose of Willy Wonka faking being crippled was to observe the tour attendees, figuring out which ones would pity him and which ones would grow impatient with him. Charlie would look at him with sympathy while the brats would be thinking 'I hope this old man doesn't die before we get into the factory.'

His eyes break space and time, almost like looking into another dimension and, with his hands, tries to illustrate what he’s seeing. For us!

It's interesting that even Ethan can't quite nail down why he likes Gattaca so much. I feel the same way. On paper, one might think it would be an odd film. It's set in the future, and yet the characters dress in 1940's clothing. The cars of the future are essentially 1950's cars from Europe. We never see a close-up of the space ships, and the characters board those ships while still wearing their suits. Instead of hi-tech, everything is very minimalistic. And yet all of that works. And it may be why I enjoy rewatching it. It would be a totally different movie if it was done with a sense of realism. It would be just another space movie that I'd see once and probably forget about. The minimalism forces you to focus strictly on the characters, who are well-written and well-played.

Oh ok wow, he just expressed his feelings and words in context..that's often very hard to do regarding talking of how you feel about someone. I always loved Gene wilder, he had/has a warmth about him that I can't describe more than that.
