@@lovetopew9054 I was talking about keeping your existing rear site
@lovetopew9054Ай бұрын
Not with this slide. The rear sight is dovetailed into the optic cover plate. You either need to retrofit an optic plate with rear sight blades or go without a rear sight.

@lovetopew9054Ай бұрын
He could have. And I’ve done it too for new shooters. I’ll usually get them before they get the gun in the holster. That said, an RO is within his rights to follow the rules to the letter. So I don’t fault him for DQing me for my own mistake.

I think your method, using the top screw to adjust the drum travel, would allow you to use the top screw to fine tune the travel for different caliber case lengths. For example, 9mm, 45 acp or 10mm wouldn’t require having to raise or lower the locking nut on the entire assembly. And yes, Hornady doesn’t explain this. Awesome video. Thank you sir.

99-62 bruh not 99-26! Good speed though! 2.35s for hundo, so I wonder if all the time savings you can get will be from the draw? What was your draw time?
@lovetopew90544 ай бұрын
Gah I'll fix the title. 1.36. I can save a tenth there for sure. My best run was a 91.7%, but that's not on video. I don't care about a 100, but a 95 is 2.48... I had a 2.57. I don't even know if any of my runs with a miss were a 2.48 LOL. 2 tenths off the draw would get me there but I don't think I'm going to do a 1.16 from surrender. Anyways I'm just trying to get a bunch of runs 85% or better for now. 😝

Next time smack the back of the slide to get the gun back into battery, then try to eject the bad round. My shadow 2s have done that before and ive found thats the fastest way to clear it. Thats assuming you can get it back into battery.

Hands don't need to be so high, just above shoulders. Having them lower will save time on the draw.

What is the advantage to that cradle trigger?
@lovetopew90547 ай бұрын
Personal preference. I prefer a curved trigger shoe on a hinged mechanism. For a straight back trigger such as a 1911, I prefer flat.

I believe the cradle trigger shoe will shorten the travel even more. Also easier to be consistent with finger placement.

What did you use to tighten the optics? Red or blue loctite and the torques? I heard a lot of optics coming loose on the shadow.
@lovetopew90548 ай бұрын
That was something I failed to mention during the video and didn’t think about it until after it had uploaded. I have had the optic plate come loose 3-4 times. The mounting plate comes loose from the slide, although the optic stays tight on the plate. But, you still need to remove the optic to get to the plate screws. It would come loose every 2000 rounds roughly. Finally I threw my hands up and used red loctite on the plate-to-slide screws. Still using blue on the screws that hold the optic to the plate. That was around the 10-11,000 round mark. Hasn’t come loose since then.
@JustinZhong19968 ай бұрын
Thanks for the quick response. So you red loctite the plate to slide and blue for the optic to plate right? What torque amount did you do?
@lovetopew90548 ай бұрын
@@JustinZhong1996 correct. Just a small amount. I’m not worried about the red being permanent, you can always heat the screw with the tip of a soldering iron to release the loctite. Blue I’m usually pretty generous but red I take it easy with that.
