i notice that saenchai and lerdsila both lose to skilled fighters who are taller than them. even if the fighter is skilled but not much taller they can handle easily. if the fighter is much taller but not skilled they will still win. but if the fighter is both skilled and tall they will lose.

yes it seemed so.... the judges looking for dominance not aggressiveness throughout the match which may not be shown by lerdsila in this case though.

I met Mr. Sirimongkol in Tokyo, probably 1986. He was a very humbling, quiet man. Much respect to all those Thai champs and fighters I met there!!

A young man in elite physical form. Mentally tough and durable, a through breed honing his skills to near perfection in the aim of destroying his opponents. Buakaw was among the select few who rose from the pack to carve out a legacy for himself, one which will live on in our memories for ever more. You were a great fighter and now a wise stable master, please do not get fat in your retirement. P.s Twice mina’s beauty rules okay?!

A beautiful fight tho, I whish fights in Western spheres had this energy and endurance. Less show, more raw martial art.

Lerdsila clearly won the fight, this ridiculous way of scoring the fight will make the art, the craft of muay Thai disappear. All we will have left is a bunch of aggressive unskillful fighters in the ring. The opposition barely landed any kicks or punches. Lerdsila hi beautiful defense and landed his own shots. but just because he was moving back to bait his opponent made him lose.

I have to ask you, did you even watch the last 2 rounds? I am a huge Lerdsila fan and have watched nearly every fight he has taken. This is by far the worst beating he has had that I'm aware of. I will say that the first 2 rounds no doubt, and maybe the 3rd, went to Lerdsila. But Jomtong landed so many huge body kicks, clinch knees, and straight left/right combos. Watch the last round again if you haven't and just count the clean punches landed. I have to give it to Lerdsila for having a chin of adamantium... But to compare Jomtong to any unskilled fighter is a huge misjudgment of the fighter. He is one of the most explosive and relentless Mui Thai fighters I've seen in a long time. This was an epic battle, and a very close fight. But I do give the point lead to Jomtong.
