The Q37 being extended to JFK is a terrible idea. That bus is going to be extremely crowded. I already gave feedback concerning that bus since it's the bus I take. Many South Ozone Park residents are going to be livid since stops in South Ozone Park are eliminated in the final draft. It should be left the way it is now.

What is the difference between a rush route and a limited route
@intesaralam4 ай бұрын
Based on their proposal, limited routes stay limited their entire route, and are focused on connecting neighborhoods. While rush routes make local stops in a pick up area and then make limited stops to the nearest subway station.

Okay, here are the issues I have with this video are these. It appears you're doing mostly voice-over, which is courteous. But there's also LOTS of real-time narration, and I don't think that is polite. I can imagine, given that you said it's a peaceful environment on Brightline, that your narration is super-annoying to other first class passengers. The seats are reserved so it's not like people can move away from you. It's kind of superfluous and it does not add any value to your video. E.g. , train stopped. That's what trains do! That does not characterize a train voyage as "chaotic and it definitely does not need your ongoing verbal description.. Worse, you're filming LOTS of passengers without their permission. If that was me, I'd be furious. You can tell at least a few are annoyed. It's not a terrible video, and there's some good information here, but it's not like there haven't been dozens of others on KZfaq pretty much just like this. I think amateur videographers and content makers need to be a LOT more aware of the rights of others and try to be as unobtrusive as possible. This video just seems so invasive.

I will say, ever since the redesign took effect in Suffolk County, I can see that so many routes have been improved with service, the one thing that impressed me the most is that Suffolk County Transit has timed point at their major hubs where almost all the buses leave at the same exact same time, imo NICE bus should have something similar to that.

I recently moved farther away to south eastern Queens neighboring long island and I took the express bus from midtown to the last stop in Queens and it took me about 1 hour to get home. I then compared it to the LIRR and it took me just short of an hour so I'd say the LIRR is the winner from personal experience.

A very good video but you didn't include any. passenger numbers! Normally 1 year is about enough time to allow people to transition to a new transit option so it would be interesting to see if numbers after 1 year are at or near expected usage. Also, has this new terminal increased usage of transit generally? Has Penn station seen a decrease in passengers?

Even if the Express Bus won, it would've only been about a 10 minute difference. I would say that's not worth paying $7.00 over the $2.90 fare for the Subway. Better to leave earlier to get to your destination and save yourself $4.10. 😊

There are even faster routes I could've taken granted I wasn't intentionally being picky, I could've taken the first F gotten lucky with an R train at Queens plaza and transferred at Lexington Ave for a downtown 4/5 if I really wanted to get there fast. However I want to make the premise of this to be simple and easy for people to understand so sometimes simple is better, regardless it wouldn't have changed the outcome.

Yeah the price of Amtrak has on some routes are definitely made to deter people. For example when I was looking for a train from NY Penn to Philadelphia 30th Street, the long distance train was $118 while the Keystone leaving a half hour later was $35. I guess you can figure out what I chose.

If you live next to a subway it’s most likely going to be the subway since you have to wait 20 minutes for an express bus at times. The express also doesn’t stop by many subway stops once it leaves the boroughs so you might have to walk home compared to being next to the subway. I live next to the Q but the express bus stop is a 7-10 minute walk away from me
@intesaralam5 ай бұрын
It's definitely tricky to make an accurate determination because everyone lives in different places, but my goal is to have races where the travel time is expected to be similar. Because when you look into most people commute it's pretty obvious which most of transit is the fastest. So for me, I'm specifically interested in cases where the travel times between each mode may be uncertain and can go either way.

I founded the QM5 from Fresh Meadows would run faster in the morning when going into midtown but the F train was always the better option in the afternoon rush due to the insane traffic going back out to Queens. I live in Flushing now and the 7 is still a better option than the QM2
