great description of the boat positioning for the best chance of fish, can i ask what the reason is for aiming the fish into the water when you release ? is it to force air into the swim bladder ?

Nice video matt .the joker mayhem is a great fish producer. We were trying the 80 g ones yesterday as I left my 60g in the bloody van . I prefer the 60g at my neck of the woods ,they seem to have that nice flutter in the shallower water colum in the bristol channel. Having said that the faster dropping 80g caught us bass once the tide started to run. Verry addictive style of fishing that's for sure .no booms or long traces to tangle .

Thanks for the comment and detailed feed back. Yes its slways good to go as light as possible but not too light that you lose good contact or the braid creates a drag issue. Drop the braid diametre down for lighter jigs and its all good 👍

@JOKERjigsandluresАй бұрын
tough question and more is to be revealled over the next two instalments! Haha to be honest I like having options and I have several SPJ rods and usually set 2 up, just like a jig choice it all depends on the conditions really.
@TheBassRacerАй бұрын
@@JOKERjigsandlures yes but if you had one rod, think ive the perfect all round SP set up now. The rod could be better on my slow pitch outfit
@JOKERjigsandluresАй бұрын
@@TheBassRacer if it was one rod it would need to work in the most likely conditions so it'd probably be the L1 as its longer and better in tougher conditions, we get too much wind! Do you have all the leader outside the rod guides when casting the jig Matt? Also, what is your preferred leader to braid knot?
@JOKERjigsandlures2 ай бұрын
No Pete my leader is a bit longer so its somewhere inside the guides. I just use an improved albright knot, theyre not the smoothest but theyre quick and really reliable for the UK waters. One thing that does help, the Palmarius P+ rods have nice wide Fuji SIC ring guides and the knot seems to just pass through with no snagging
