aw ty! my plan with me goes out saturday but in the meantime i’ve done jellyfish, sewing pattern, scrapbook, and cherry themes for august. i also love the idea of a fishing theme or fireflies theme since it’s the end of summer.

I have both, but remember alcohol ones are not lightfast and the alcohol smell can affect a journaler's physical system.

very true!
@tcconnection3 күн бұрын
A blending brush or a light water stroke would blend the water-based colors better, maybe even better than the alcohol ones

ive tried blending brushes in the past and they are not extremely effective in my experience but if they work for you then great!

This might be a dumb question, but what happens if you use Ohuhu's on copy paper? If you're pasting it in a journal, it wouldn't matter if they bleed, unless the paper frays with layers. At first, it looked like you were using copy paper, until you told us. Very cute images. I am frustrated with the weird look water color markers make with streaks, but they don't bleed. Conundrums of life, heh. I have the 60 set of ohuhu's, but that pastel set is good. I've never tried them on copy paper.
@mingostudio3 күн бұрын
@@kaylenedawnbuteaufitnessbu2282 not a dumb question! you’re completely right, in my experience you could technically use copy paper but it’s relatively thin so if you layered with markers it would fray the paper. which is why i like sticker paper or thicker mixed media paper, anything over 150gsm is a good place to start :)

So basically you can’t use alcohol markers directly in your bujo page still, right? It’s gonna bleed. In the end you still have to do it on a separate paper and paste it onto the bujo page 😬

I just read Skin of the Sea (which I highly recommend) and for my reading journal entry last week I stamped an Archer & Olive mermaid from the new set on sticker paper and used alcohol markers & acrylographs to decorate before adding to my journal. I haven't used alcohol markers a ton so tips are always helpful. I find it really challenging to pick the right colors and blending for skin tones so I really like seeing your process.
@mingostudio4 күн бұрын
oh cool! glad you enjoyed the video. what was skin of the sea about? im assuming mermaids lmao
@trippingthewasteland4 күн бұрын
@@mingostudio Yeah, it's a young adult book by Natasha Bowen about African mermaids at the start of the transatlantic slave trade so it's The Little Mermaid meets West African folklore in a historical setting. I really enjoyed it. There's a sequel too but I haven't read it yet.

Hey there, I usually don’t comment on videos, but as someone who bullet journaling for a year and 2 months, my theme for July this year is Ice Cream City inside an hourglass theme which is one of my favourite bujo theme for this year. This month I have ice cream buildings and hourglass everywhere in my bujo. My favourite spread is the cover + calendar page and the hourglass dutch door. My August theme is picnic theme. I decided not to use any black next month and using brown as a fineliner also using alphabet stamps instead. Here is a question: would you make a picnic theme for August? ( not forcing you to do this but hope this would give you an idea for a theme ) - From a bullet journalist in Malaysia 🇲🇾

My daughter bought me a Polaroid Hi-Print for my birthday. I’ve been wanting something like that for a couple of years now and I’m so excited because I’m getting closer to being able to journal. I would have started but I was in hospital for nearly a week and I’m still recovering. When I’m feeling 100% I’ll hopefully, finally start. I would say what I want to do is a cross between Journaling, junk journaling & scrapbooking. My drawing is not even close to anything like yours so that’s why I’m doing a mixture of things. Your talent blows me away it’s that good!!! 😀

I love watching every set up video, but I think May's theme and colours are my favourite. (Although, I may just be a biased punk rocker at heart lol) I also found the June weeklys really inspiring and used them in my own July set up. It really took the pressure off of being creative in a month where I was so busy being away camping on the weekends (no surprises in that my July theme was in fact: camping).
