I was just listening last night to a cassette featuring John Gill, and it's likely 40 years old. Nice. Thanks, M.

I made the mistake of listening to this at midnight, just now. Oboy. I'll be up for a while. Wow. Thanks, Michael!

Very nice version of the great standard by the Spikes Brothers, 2 of the first Black American musicians working on the West Coast.

Nice to see a real piano. They seem to becoming rare nowadays, with electric keyboards becoming more the norm.

Thank god I can watch it in 2024, for the first time. It’s strange when the composer change, the vibe change. And mr Sportiello aligned them perfectly. ❤

the grandeur of a pianist ....reveals itself...when not one guitarist but two of them are pestering you with their chord stuff during your solo, yikes, alas, one of them paid your gig ;-)

Beautiful, I personally like this one quicker but James makes it work nicely at this tempo!

Kit Kat likes it too. Although her fave jazz is any orchestra where the front line stands to solo. Really.

oh yes ! wonderful love-lee talk about jimmy rowles and benny carter. i only heard carter a few times in the 1980´s. yes, a KING he was. and jimmy rowles ...... one of my mai people. i guess i have about 60 vinyls and 40 CD´s with him. ..... and i play regularly THE PEACOCKS on some of my concerts. as i am a jazz pianist.

Came very late to the music Lena Bloch. Quite by accident. I’ve listened to her in a variety of settings. Superb player and deserves wider recognition. The are hints of the great Jimmy Halperin. And shades of Sal Mosca in Roberta Piket, this is my first hearing of the pianist. Really enjoyed the duet (a bit more percussive than Sal). Hoped they might finish with Subconscious-Lee 😊. Superb 👌

CT has always been absolutely fantastic. We played together for about 11 years (although not in a continuous way) and I never heard a performance less than beautiful.
