Nice technique with the larger and properly sized open lug nuts to pull it tight. I was fussing with the closed lugs and spacers.

I think it doesn't. When we had only a base and a front facing car seat, it didn't come up easily already. See kzfaq.info/get/bejne/nbh8f9Oa0JzbooE.html. We ended up leaving it down and using it as a shorter table.

Bro are you stupid 💀 an A-380 does not have those engines, wings, livery, and is 2 floors all the way throughout… that is indeed a 747, it’s just hard to see the front because it’s blue and blends in with the sky… but it’s there

Pistons were compressed because you started the car with the caliper removed already. As you said in the video. You need to press the brake pedal in order to start the car right?

If I remember correctly, we 1. Turned off the car and started the work. We definitely pushed the brake paddle down before that as we needed to brake. 2. Worked on the car till we realized that we couldn't get the caliper back on with the brake pads on. Before this, we only released the parking brake. 3. We started the car hoping the pistons will collapse somehow. They didn't. You are correct that when starting the care we hit the brake paddle. What would be a sequence in which we will end up with collapsed pistons?

After trying 2, the brake pads fell out and I was like oh no. It was getting dark and I had never worked on brakes before. Learned the lesson that DIY is fine, just budget more time.

You definitely have a good point. I think it'd be much better if I can record the process of installing the car seats. There are a few reasons why I didn't do it. 1. It was always a long trial-and-error process where I installed them on my own. It's hard to make a video at the same time. 2. It was always an after-thought. After I installed the car seat well for a trip, I'd think oh, it's good to share this with people on the Internet. We found it was not easy to find information on car seats on RVs. There is some value to show people that you can actually get it done to some degree. I made this second one because I made a similar one (kzfaq.info/get/bejne/nbh8f9Oa0JzbooE.htmlsi=lbPywXj6quFhACz1) and some people thought it was very helpful. I also left some text in a rather popular blog post on car seats at ratherelevated.blogspot.com/2021/04/family-rv-trip-and-tips.html. Again, I definitely see where you are coming from. And you are 100% correct that had I shown people the actually process of installation, it'd be 10x more helpful and the video would have done much better. If there is a next time, I will try to do that. Thanks for your feedback.

pretty sure you install it the same way you would in a car. Just move the pads and you'll see the anchors and the belts.
