In a championship meet. I’d score it a 5. You are going over on the entry, legs bent towards the end. Not perfectly straight shows less control (twisted slightly). Good dive though.

The heater was great! I bought a Honeywell Uberheater 5 for $34 on Amazon. It’s small, but kept me warm all night and kept the exterior of the tent dry from dew. The heat rises so I put it on a platform on the floor. It also has a button in the bottom so if it tips over, it automatically shuts off. But it is very stable.

Added them in photoshop with the astronomy tools action set. I wanted a little more depth of field.

Between 6.5 and 7. The pike was not closed the whole way, and the entry ended up splashier than the body line would suggest. I would also have liked a better ride with the board in the hurdle.

I looked up the info and they have made more of the pyramid area wheel chair accessible so you can get close, but the inside of the pyramids are definitely not.

550mm is definitely giving me hope. I have no idea how it will turn out, but I've got a 700mm newtonian that I've modified for dslr use, and shaved weight off of. I plan on attempting to use it with my Star Adventurer 2i. With the dslr and guide scope, it still comes in under the weight limit. May not produce anything noteworthy, but I'm anxious to try it.

If I’ve learned anything in this hobby, there are billions of ways to do things and no right or wrong way. That would be awesome to see! If I were you, I would start at something that is closer to Polaris first and then work your way from there. It will be a lot more forgiving. But definitely let me know how it works out!

Guiding is a huge step forward. You will find that with narrowband you do not have to take longer exposures but you CAN :)

That’s exactly what Cuiv the lazy geek says! I’m excited to start this journey. I just can’t believe it all worked in one night. I’m sure it will be better once the nights get longer. The biggest thing I need to do now is get a cooled camera as I do get a lot of thermal noise. But I have thoroughly enjoyed the slow progress.

I definitely go to Cherry Springs every month so if you plan to visit again, just let me know. You lucky to have a Bortle 4 where you live. I live in Rochester, NY so the 2.5 hour drive is worth it.
