FE series Fords generally do; they're pretty much bullet proof. The car, however, is beyond restoration.

It could be done, I won't be the one to do it, but maybe someone will 🤣. If not, itll just cruise some as is

Nice Job!!! I left my carpet in the hot June Tennessee sun for a few days to help with relaxing it before installation.

Pretty sure it's the cam making it sound choppy, not that rendition of a boom tube.

Well yea.. Guess I should have titled it "cam chop through NASCAR boom tube"

Very nice. How did you know what hole the bows went in to? Bought my car with them out and not sure the correct hole for each bow. Bummer
@NoL1m1tGarageАй бұрын
Kept them in line when I took them out 😅. Best bet is to test fit them in the roof before putting them in the headliner, then keep them in position when its time to put em in the headliner.

What was the difference between the part you first installed and the second part? I'm looking at getting one used, and want to be sure my seats can slide back.

The first one was too wide. I have this whole set up for sale as I don't own the machine anymore and took it out when I sold it if you're interested

wow just wow, those iowa salted winter roads show no mercy. I lived in West Union Iowa early 70's, my folks station wagon rear quarter panels both rusted out from the salted roads and fell off the car, it looks even worse under the hood. My dad left it in a gully on our farm, it literally rusted to nothing after a couple more years. Thats a real nice Chevelle worthy of saving, I hope your able to do a frame off and remove all that rust.

Just started watching. What you have there was a very desirable model with the teenager's of the late 60's and early 70's. The 62 Galaxie 500 4 door Hard Top was still cool looking and easy to get in an out of on our cruising and double date nights. My bud was given his dad's retired business car that very model. He caressed a rebuilt and hoped up 390 under the hood and had a streetlight sleeper. Thanks for renewing my memories.

My dad bought new Galaxies in '63 and '66, the latter one from a young dealer in Milwaukee named Bud Selig, the future Commissioner of Baseball.

Please change the oil before you run it any more. That car can be saved.
@NoL1m1tGarage4 ай бұрын
Oil will be changed for sure. A little run time on the old oil is mainly to make sure all the junk gets back to the pan before changing (and to make sure it runs at all). No sense in getting new oil dirty right away or wasting new oil on an engine that is junk lol.
@junkyardhack62924 ай бұрын
FEs were a very underrated engine. They had endless amounts of torque and were bulletproof. They werent the greatest for racing (except the 427) The Chevy guys all yell "boat anchor" but in a dystopian future when all the small block Chevies and LS engines will be locked up and in a big pile in the back of an old F250 powered by an FE headed for the scrap yard.

Glad to see a rescue and hope its not just a toy to chop up into someones dream. I seen the outline and its going to be bagged, and stuff this old man hates to see happen. That said, millions were made and its yours to enjoy. New generation says they are just old cars that no one really cares about. Their right as we are too old to get out and find this stuff as I am crippled up, on hospice so many times that death now is just a goal. I owned rigs like this and had my fun so its your turn
@johnfranklin52774 ай бұрын
I remember these when they were new. They sold very well . Dont know where this is, its certainly not Southern California where I am, Judging by condition. Maybe is all rotted underneath and thats why it was parked. Hopefully not!
