I love R.L. and Junior Kimbrough, who sadly have both deceased. This northern MS hill country blues is different, and magically danceable!

First time I've heard him and his band. Man, he's something! Got a knack for strong, catchy guitar riffs.

I live in California but grew up with cotton picking and chopping going on all around our house...brings back those memories... sloughs full of fish, turtles, snakes and the smell of the med.

The Black Keys and Mississippi All-stars are the direct music disciples of RLB. The tuning in conjunction with that locomotive thumbing is a signature of blues. Granted, he doesn't do that in this song, but this is another example of what a badass and innovator of sound he was. Beast at all times.

Sounds like he(Burnside)was influenced by the Funk movement which white folks in control of the American record labels killed off, along with all other forms of creative music, coming from the Blacks and the Whites, back in the early 1980s. And if you think I don't know what I'm talking about, I'm now in my mid 60s, and was there, when the music went from YEA to NAY, back then. 2-4-23.
