Water is brown because of the tannins from decaying plant material. It’s a natural occurrence which makes the water look like tea.

You guys shouldn’t be hiking alone. Group should be at least 4 strong. For safety and, if one gets injured, then one hiker stays with the injured person and the other TWO go get help or raise the alarm. Basic hiking protocols

Great video, you have a great pilot, I came back from doing this fun thing about a week ago, but way shorter than your fly time, about 5 minutes or less (the video captured by the pilot was 4:08 ) , paying Rand 2100 for a short fly time is ..........

Sorry to hear about your experience. I am a recreational pilot myself. They were able to stay longer in the air because of good wind conditions. It's possible during your flight the winds were not strong enough. In that case you need to come straight to landing else you will not make it. I've done 2-3 hour long flights but also 5 minutes flights which was just take off and direct to landing. It sucks but it's a very weather dependent sports. Most pilots I know are in it for the fun of flying, so even they like the flights to be longer. Remember half of the days the weather is not flyable at all, and those days these pilots don't make any money.
