@@DesertRatFabrication it was super smooth at idle with it on or off. This old motor is so ridiculously smooth honestly. He drives this truck year round now!

@@DesertRatFabrication oh okay! I can't say I noticed it enough to say it would need that. I agree! They make a retrofit kit that lets you turn the original mechanical control into electrical controls but I thought for simplicity sake it made more sense to go with theirs!

@@DesertRatFabrication I'll have to go back and look at where we bought it but it was a Precision Parts kit. I believe they sell them at multiple different suppliers.

The Sanderson shorty headers FF390 I believe was the number DID NOT clear the steering box on my 64 Galaxie. I had to beat a flat area on the #7 tube and the #6 tube, that was at least 1/4" deep to leave about 3/16" clearance . New mount cushions, so that wasn't the issue. Poor manufacturing tolerances. If I had paid for ceramic coating I would have been REALLY pissed.

@@davidkeeton6716 oh wow man I hate that! After we jacked the motor up these basically fell in place. As you know there is no extra room in these cars so it was tight but we did have clearance everywhere.

​@shift_points Now I did use gaskets which moves the headers outboard. The Remflex gaskets are about 1/8" thick.

@@shift_points Back in the day, so to speak, they didn't always have red on the battery cable - when you charged the battery, jumped the vehicle or installed a new battery you knew that the larger terminal was the positive.

@@tinycockjock1967 so first off check out the full length video. It goes into a lot more detail! It is linked. What you are seeing isn't "wrong" lol enlarging multiple areas essentially on the exhaust side of a cylinder head can give MAJOR power upgrade to the engine. Why this is "bad" here is because the rules state that no modifications can be done to these heads. They have to be purchased and used exactly how they are out of the box. I hope this helps! We are planning more videos like this so any other questions let me know and we can make sure to cover it in more detail later.

Just like my yesterday Saturday trying to fish pre bent stainless brake lines around the frame to end up with leaking DOT 3 at every unions after all was triple checked…. Sure love my Big Galaxie though.

Forever Stupid Association Rules to save money that end up costing every one more...For example, Crate Engines, Cost you 5 -6K and you can not repair them yourself, I say, run what you brung that uses identifiable stock markings, then make it claimable for the same price as a new one, by any driver in the top 20 of the association, in cash, at the track, after the main event....

Hate to have the everyday guy run out of the track because the big money teams can run high dollar equipment and blow everyone out of the water. We appreciate you watching!

This a riv-nut tool. Things are really neat at times. My main use so far has been to bolt wall mounts onto the toolbox music in order to use the sides efficiently for storage.

Probably a while, carb parts don’t need a lot of torque, I’d be more worried about plastic shavings clogging small passages inside once they do start to wear

@@bradydevergilio7478 it isn't a run of the mill plastic. It's a nylon with chopped carbon for reinforcement. These things are super durable. Plus you don't need to be torquing down on carb parts a lot anyway so they will last a long time.
