The North West Shelf Project has certainly contributed to WA's development in the past, however its future is uncertain. The proposal to extend its operation to 2070 received more appeals than any project in WA's history, with a majority on climate change grounds. This uncertainty has influenced some Woodside investors, including the Australasian Centre for Corporate Responsibility (ACCR), who now conclude that Woodside's growth-led strategy presents too much financial risk.
