Yes no RX needed, but the bluetooth sound quality is crap also a few milliseconds desynced with the video as well. so you need the mic 2 rx as well of course

Took me 6 months to report this --> On the bottom if you use an Allen key, you can remove the hot shoe, and it'll be a 1/4 inch underneath; this means you don't need to buy a 1/4 inch adapter with it, it's right inside of it. Blew my mind. By doing this, this is easily the smollest shotgun mic mount, even smaller than with the hotshoe.

Any reason why you removed the battery.......? I ran a cheaper camera without the battery so the power bank didn't turn off and the camera overheated. Great vids btw. Cheers

I don’t even use the noise canceling feature in my audio, and I think the mic 2 does a great job of catching audio. Im in wind with engine & wave noise. I’ll see how the update does but happy either way. Just not with their mic attachment for the x4 insta camera, waiting on my 3rd party attachment

Opinion of a 25+ year audio engineer who added video production to my "skillset" around 2014: For full control of an edit, just like filming in LOG, the audio guys/gals want the unaffected, un-eq'ed sound of a microphone captured for full control in the edit (EQ, compression, etc). BUT...but but but....we live in an increasingly run-n-gun world of content creation...so DJI upgrading the internal sound of their 2nd gen mics is VERY welcome in that regard. It's like using a "destructive" or "baked-in" preset, color profile, or LUT on your video that you know looks good for quick turnaround/upload to socials. My only question is (happy gen 1 owner), can you select the new "enhanced" EQ preset for quick edits along with a "flat" preset for more involved edits? -Johnny, HMNS KZfaq & Podcast Manager

Thank you for posting this. I've been testing all my adapters (USB-C to 3.5mm TRRS/TRS) with no luck on the Action 4. I have an Osmo Pocket 2 and had purchased the DJI USB-C to 3.5mm Pocket Adapter, which proved to only be compatible with the Pocket series and not the Action series. No clue why that would be...but hope others don't make the same mistake and buy the DJI product hoping that works. Was nearly about to purchase the new DJI adapter for the Action series USB-C to 3.5mm, albeit the design is sweet and square shaped sitting on the side of the Action 4, it is 4 times the price as the Boya adapter. Interestingly enough, the wireless mic I am trying to use is the Boya wireless mic system, but did not know about this Boya adapter. Just ordered it and should arrive tomorrow, hopefully, as our trip is this weekend. Will post a confirmation that this adapter functions with the Action 4 & Boya wireless mics. Cheers!

Sounds like they boosted the bass. On professional lavs they tend to be more flat because mic on the chest sound more bassy and if concealed under clothing more so. But since the most common way is with the receiver on the outside of the shirt and type of users probably aren't going to eq their audio it makes sense for DJI to do this. Note outdoors bass boost could increase wind or handling noise.

What about USB-C Female to TRS male audio adapter? Does that exist?

I can't say it sounds "better" but it defenitely has more bass and with that it obtained more "depth" per se

Wayne i'm a DJI fanboy and i have to admit.. I hated how the DJI Mic 2 sounded compared to My Original DJI MIC.. especially when plugged into my Macbook pro using Quicktime Audio Recorder to Test Just basic Audio Recordings... OG DJI MIC sounded LOUDER and WAY BETTER on any setting. i sent back my DJI Mic 2 extremely upset... Then i purchased THE DJI POCKET 3 creator bundle with the MIC 2... hardly ever used the MIC 2 just The Pocket 3 for recording video and the audio sounded extremely good. I'm thinking about eventually re-ordering DJI MIC 2 System again someday... Thanks for this video i wasn't aware of an update
